I've had the opportunity to see Teddy Swims in concert, beginning in January 2020. After watching videos he and his band posted on TH-cam throughout 2019, I was drawn to his voice & style.He encouraged feedback in the early days. I knew he had what it takes to make it big. Jaten Dimsdale, aka Teddy Swims, has phenomenal talent, kindness, humility & a heart of gold. I'm grateful to have seen him perform every time he's in the NY/NJ/PA area, including his recent show in Atlantic City. Teddy is the real deal who has always appreciated his fans. His powerful, raw, gritty voice is superb, his resonance, expressiveness & flexibility show in all his songs. Teddy's talent for songwriting equally matches his vocal abilities. It's these qualities, along with his relatability, thoughtfulness, benevolence & quirky, unconventional look, attract fans of all ages. The fans at his Atlantic City show ranged from young teenagers to those in their late 80's. Everyone was having a blast dancing/singing along. Teddy also had interpreters for ASL on stage & they were phenomenal. I've only seen this once before at live shows. Teddy's band deserves much credit for their talent, too. Seeing his performance limited at this award show proves talent isn't the most important factor. Teddy Swims has more talent than so many who were given prominent billing.
MTV this is what a true artist sounds like. No autotune no over the top outfits to distract you from the fact they can’t sing. Dude just out here singing and doin it well. Find more people like this instead of trying to hype up people like Chappell Roan who can’t sing
