The trains don't have air-conditioning because the entire track is underground, and they have no way to implement air-conditioning. Last time I took this metro was all the way back in 1999.
Yeah in order to properly implement A/C on trains, they'd need to do something about excessive heat in stations too, otherwise they'd become blast furnaces
They have a few advantages. They are quieter, more comfortable and can climb steeper hills. However, they cannot really be used in severe winter conditions like we have here, so the network is entirely underground.
