    I use a similar set up for my hunting arrow. The setup that works for me is a Victory VF TKO Elite with Blazer vanes and a Swhacker #201 and my total arrow weight is 420 grains. My draw weight is 65# and a DL of 27.5. Really excited about this setup this year!

    Nice, informative video. Really helpful. Personally the arrow i hunt with is pretty different, I've zero doubt that this build would serve very well in the woods on someone's next deer hunt. Thanks for sharing mate.

      @@BackyardBows That’s me a newbie, I just built an Easton PX10 parallel with 1.75 SEVR 125 grain. What you think?

    I love the arrow shop talk. The hunters that brought me up told me for broad heads, The bigger the animal, the smaller the head. I only used my ironwill’s for my bison from their logic a bison lung shot is a bigger target than a deers, so therefore they want to make sure they get a good clean pass through. But I use mechanicals on all my whitetale hunts. Love hearing your thoughts on setups man. Always good to hear what other people run and why.

    My setup this year is Easton 6.5 bowhunter 250 spine 29.5", stock insert, 175 grain tooth of the srrow 4 blade xl non vented. Flies like darts

  • @chrisruzsa2798
    @chrisruzsa2798 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The best setup is one that flies perfectly for how you shoot.
    500 plus for vertical
    550 plus for crossbow sometimes 600 is the minimum draw weight depending.

    Enjoyed the video
    But I have to be honest
    With “my” set up 68lb ,27”draw 455 gr arrow,mechanicals are not even a consideration. I want a complete pass through. My setup is not good enough for them. Now,as far as my x-bows are concerned…the 3” inch cut Swhacker is my favorite!At this time it is all I have and will use in the x-bows. Love them!
    Just change out the retainer bands often!!Cannot express that enough! Hard lesson learned 😢. Heavy insert and 150gr Broadheads are the norm for both types of my bows
    Weight-
    F.O.C.- Definitely part of my arrow build. Good luck this season!
    PS MY VERTICAL BOW RUNS WITH A CUT ON CONTACT FIXED BLADE
    Also you might want to consider checking them stats again on deer recovery with the 2 different styles of B.H’s
    I believe you were misinformed. 👌

      Only have perspective from the information I have given by the gentleman it came from, on top of my own. No matter what u use patience, anatomy, shot iq factor in much more than the heat itself

    Isn't it kinda backwards to use an aluminum wrapped arrow?, archery moved away from aluminum to carbon because aluminum bends? Personal preference comes into play but without doubt, but after shooting easton axis arrows and victory rip tko its a no brainer to shoot the rip tko's IMO. Same as Id shoot the victory rip SS over the fmj all day. To each his own, I got sick of easton arrows getting glued into my targets when I can easily pull out all my victory arrows. I'd guess victory's nano coating actually helps.

    Those aluminum half outs are fragile! My buddy ran those for a summer and they constantly broke off in 3d targets. He also used the hit epoxy and couldn't get the broken inserts out so he had to throw away those arrows

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  ปีที่แล้ว

      Never have had one break and if that’s the case tell him the stainless steel def won’t, and I glue them in to never come out, and then cut down for nephew to use if one breaks
