This guy is balling out. Finally we got a young great hitter that has power/average. Short swing and great discipline

just need a few more big bats in the line up. they look pretty good so far (knock on wood).

No disrespect to David Wright, but Pete Alonso is unquestionably the best home grown power hitter since Darryl Strawberry.

Luxeley bro it’s his first year u need to chill and wait a little u remember what happened w Matt harvey right were met fans were jumping the gun to soon again and it’s happening again history repeating itself already

@@donrightgaming1455 No doubt I am speaking from a position of hyper enthusiasm. But can you blame me? There hasn't been a home grown power hitter in the Met Org since Darryl Strawberry.
There are a few distinct differences between Harvey and Alonso. Alonso is an adult and 10x's more mature than Harvey. And thus far Alonso has shown the ability to make adjustments. He's more of a student of the game than Harvey ever was.
I get your pt. A better example would be Diaz who had 1 amazing year in a city half the people can't find on a map. Anyone can put together one great year, I get that, it's all about consistency - let's see where he is in 2021.

I haven't been this happy with two young Mets,Alonzo & McNeil since the Gooden/Strawberry days in the 80's.Love the way these two guys play the game. If the Mets had a decent bullpen they'd be in the pennant hunt. When the starters leave the game I ask myself,"okay, how's the bullpen gonna blow it this time?"
