Love the new format for blind taste testing. We are so easily influenced by labels, so it makes sense to eliminate those biases upfront. 👍 It would be cool to have a checklist of sorts for the taste testing table... ✅ Texture ✅ Fiber ✅ Sweet/Tart ✅ Flavor Profile ✅ Overall Taste Ranking and for the grower's side of the equation... ✅ Fruit Productivity ✅ Fruiting Time(s) ✅ Hardiness Zones ✅ Growth Habit/Size ✅ Special Care ✅ Availability Love all of your content and always look forward to what you have to share. Thank you 💞
Hi, I am new to all these varieties having lived in Hawaii and only tried Hayden, "common" and now from a store in Cali, Keitt (so good). I do know that mangoes vary in taste on different sides of the fruit and I happen to love the greener flavor (no one eats really ripe in Hawaii). I'm interested in the "wide variation" found in tastes. I.e., what's the "turpentine" flavor mean? This was really interesting and I was surprised that coconut flavor didn't stand out in the Coconut Cream mango. Moving to Florida soon and really ready to enjoy mango season!
So what’s up with the coconut cream? This is the second year my tree is producing and To say I’m unimpressed is an understatement. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe I was sold a weed? I definitely taste the coconut in it but that’s about it. Very meah fruit... plus the tree is ugly and droopy, I can barely keep up with its growing habits. I’ll give it one more year, I have a small yard and mediocre mango is not something I can afford.
I had a great time tasting these mangos. Thank you Chris for inviting me. I love the new format.
Love the new format, glad Cogshall got the thumbs up, this is the first year I’ll be harvesting mine!
Me too.
I do the same with Pluots.
The name alone can preset expectations and the mind can fool itself.

Thanks for the suggestions!
@@TrulyTropical I would like to see a bite of a bland saltine cracker or sip of water between vatieties to clean the palate as in a wine tasting.
Enjoyed watching. Thanks too both of you.
I just want a tasting invite!! Lol
I think this is very entertaining to watch
If you prefer this new format, "thumbs up" this comment.
I just knew about your channel from one of Bangladeshi person who visited your garden recently. From Bangladesh.

'Turpentine' Mango has an excellent flavor... very refreshing and satisfying
Was the CC not as ripe as the others perhaps?
Can you advise me on what variety of mango is cold hardy and where to buy them? I believe I live in zone 9b.
Just paid $15 to try one coconut cream this weekend... probably way overpaid but only way I had a chance to taste it and it was gooodd😭😭
What’s the sweetest variety mango when still crunchy?

tbh, mangoes taste pretty much the same when they are ripe. some tastes better when they're still crunchy and semi ripe.
I think this is very entertaining to watch
