This track, "Yewo to mu ate bi awe" was introduced to me in 1982 by a friend who was a taxi driver in Accra New Town. He asked me to accompany him, one night for his "Aworshia" commute. He played the cassette over and over that night. I remember one nagging passenger we picked from Tip Toe, remarked, "You Ashantis brag too much. That is why I don't support Kotoko. I think the club should be rebranded Kumasi Kotoko, instead of Asante Kotoko." Well, that was his opinion. We did not argue for he was picked up for the fee not what he stood for.
What I appreciate about classic highlife is how every instrument is so clear, from bass, drums, guitar, etc. - just beautiful! My Bose headphones makes the sound even richer! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful classic. RIP Mr. Konadu!
What a good song writer and excellent vocals with timely rhythm and booming mix of bass guitar. Konadu your music lives on. Well done Kwabena. RIP ONE MAN 1000.

1:1-9:40 what a song!! W h a t !!!???
"Kontrofi ntoma tete a na kyea mbo no"
Bro's am a Ga, what does it mean please
@@danielbarnor8879 "the grasshopper's clothes may be worn out but it never loses it's swag". Meaning keep ur dignity even in extreme poverty.
@@gaspax5972 The expression is, "Akonkromfi ntoma tete a akyea mmo no." Akokromfi is a praying mantis, not a grasshopper. Just a correction.
one man thousand rest in perfect peace. I still rely on your songs
Great
I loved all the instrumentalists
could someone post an *accurate* track listing for this album? the first song does not appear to actually be "agyata wuo".
Sorry, that is the title that is listed on the sleeve.
Adamo is too much
May his soul rest in peace
