Big brother Tororo is so cute drinking and finishing the milk. He's so amazing jumping high for the food. And it's so great to see Beat with good appetite and energy playing with siblings. 😊❤
☺Beat is looking so much better, Mum you are doing the right thing giving him some time alone to eat in relaxed surroundings, please make sure he is getting all the correct vitamins etc in his diet. I'm so happy to see he is playing & having fun with his family, he obviously has much more energy now. Thank you Loutre for your love & dedication to Beat & all the otters there. I think what really does it is being given the time to eat at his own pace...and he obviously loves to eat straight from Loutre-Maman's hand. It's such a joy to see! 💖

Oh this makes my heart happy! 💖It's an especially beautiful video, with all of the gorgeous close-ups of everyone (Tororo going crazy for that milk, Odashi lying on the floor like somebody at a Roman banquet, and all the rest of the madcap merry crew), but the best part was watching Beat eating as though he really enjoyed it and playing as if he really felt good! He is looking so much better! Thank you Loutre-Maman for everything you've done for Beat and for all of the otters in your care. I truly believe that if you keep it up, everyone will be just fine. 💗

keep at it Beat! stay the course buddy just keep eating! thank you Mama L for trying to find food(s) that peaks his interest & appetite. supplement with high calorie snacks to improve his energy level (crab meat/imitation crab, abalone etc) or with the food you already know he will eat. fascinating to watch the kids imitate big bro Toro's eating habit and Oda's hygienic routine! wtg kids! perhaps one day theyll be able to swim in the river too and build strong stamina like Toro.
Good to see Beat eating better and putting on weight. He looked so gaunt a couple weeks ago and when you mentioned anesthesia I thought of Love. Miss her terribly..
Tororo turns into a baby again drinking milk. Extra nourishment from milk will help Beat catch up with the other otters. He's a bit picky with his food but, whatever he likes is what he needs to be fed.❤

I'm glad Beat is holding in there. Its cool seeing them all together. I wish you would do an update on how Nami and Wasabi are doing. I miss them both so bad.

I noticed Beat is learning to steal and hide his food from his siblings. That is a good sign that he wants to survive. He does seem to have put on more weight too. Mama Loutre you take such good care of the little ones!

It just occurred to me that, maybe, Beat is extra sensitive, and the fur/coat pulling that Otsuyu does might've been having such an extreme effect on him that he was suffering from some depression and anxiety. Depression definitely can have an affect on your appetite. He seems to definitely like eating away from the others. He looks better.😊
Yes, this would make a lot of sense! I think being the smallest may be why Otsuyu singles him out more - he's her 'baby' still? And it puts extra stress on him/ I know Otsuyu is not being deliberate, but I feel so sorry for Beat. We all love him!
This hadn't occurred to me either but I did consider that maybe he was stressed out from all the chaos of his siblings with his gentle disposition. Stress can do funny things too.
Let's hope beat continues to grow strong. ❤
Is there anything you can do to help Otsuyu stop plucking their fur? It looks like she's not doing that with Tororo now.
I think that you have definitely got hold of something there! I've thought before that Beat is extra-sensitive to almost everything in his world (light, sound, taste). His coat is looking much better now that he is getting more time to be peaceful by himself (he always did march to his own drummer!). What Loutre-Maman is doing is working on a lot of levels!
@karenj.5910 I don't know if there's any way to stop her other than separating Otsuyu from the kids more. I remember Mama Loutre trying different things after Otsuyu's first pregnancy, Wasabi & Namida, but nothing really worked except separation. Tororo's coat has looked better because he was kept with Odashi by himself so much when he was young to the point that, I think, he and even Otsuyu view him as Odashi's kid. It might be good for Beat to have some more individual time with Odashi or Tororo & Odashi only. Beat definitely seems the most sensitive and introverted. Time alone or with just smaller groups of his siblings, not including Otsuyu, might help. That's my best guess.🤷🏼♀️

Ahhh, it seems Beat is an introverted otter! He doesn't like a lot of chaos and noise around him - especially when eating or drinking.

Seeing him playing and not snarling & running away made me smile - that's a really good sign for any child! I'd still take him to the vet, but if he's gaining weight & fitness then it's not so urgent. Still, maybe take him somewhere new & not threatening ( park when it's empty perhaps - interesting nature smells but hopefully no threatening noise ) to see if the new stimulus helps his interest in life though.

I think if you separate beat to feed the bottle and maybe try powdered milk with water in the dry food, just a little, see if he eats that,, if the milk is soaked into the food he will get both. He does look better than he did before, AMEN! Prayers are working also, Nice work Loutre!
