First time I've seen one of your reviews Chad. Impressive. However, I own one of these but mine has the dreaded black interior. I live in Mississippi so we are certainly not any strangers to summer heat. I haven't had any problem with the heat you were talking about .The AC works amazingly well and will cool the car in minutes.

New Beetle Interior is O.K. What we Käfer's Lovers can't stand is the exteror. VW could have done better to leave the exterior unchanged or at least done little, minimal, necesarry modifications. People have always loved the Käfer (Beetle) priciplally for its exterior.

never buy a German car out of warranty unless you have lots of money to fix.....duel clutch transmission in this Beetle is $4,000 to fix....
