Interesting to see my old high school and the changes made in the last 37 years around the main field. Greetings from Canada. Nice win WBHS!

Bangkok Thailand is still under semi lockdown, and here I am watching WBHS' rugby. The fields, the buildings....33 years ago. This feels good.

as a Westlake Old Boy I'd love to see an Old Boys Rugby club" established and playing in the Harbour Club rugby comp. " Westlake High School Old Boys" just rolls of the tongue indeed. I reckon a Lake Old Boys team would be challenging the Harbour powerhouse clubs like Takapuna,Shore, Northcote ,Bays and Massey in no time at all ,GO THE LAKE !!

One thing is noticeable is how small our schoolboys are compared to the South African kids. It's no wonder they dominate us at schoolboy level. Thankfully we tend to catch up in size post school.

These kids are getting smaller each year. Our 1st XVs back in 2017-2018 were much bigger. Bearded as well, look like they got kids or something

@Johnny R The game is dying because our culture is changing. Soft men growing up are having kids, and raising them soft. Rugby is very physical, but it should be what draws parents to encourage their kids to play. Kids need a chance to contest with someone bigger than them and smaller then them, to smash others and get smashed, to fight as a team, and fight personal battles. Teaches you a little bit about life.

@@kentkendall1698 If any of you were actually there I was there as First Aid he was given a yellow card, and it does not show on here but in the first 7 seconds Whangarei Boys performed a no arms tackle and knocked one of our players out for a good 1.30 and had to be transported to the hospital for mild concussion from this tackle but no card was given apart from blue for the player knocked out.

Isn't it only not straight if it goes towards your team? That throw went miles off centre, but it went towards Whangarei not the throwers team.

@@kolrhcp Na gotta be dead straight, in this case defending team should be rewarded with a scrum. Witch in theory is an advantage over a lineout.
(Edit) After thinking a bit, the referee is entitled to play an advantage as the defending team ended up in possession.

I’m pretty sure the 7 transitioned to hooker as i go to Westlake and know that he also plays hooker as the original Westlake hooker subbed off he played that role as we did not actually have a hooker on the bench
