Though his mom just wanted dex to be happy no matter who he married , his dad made it seem like he could put his mom back in a bad state. Plus from childhood he never did what he wanted because of what his dad expected. I y’all say he wasn’t good for Rachel but He loved her he just had to become his own person. He called off the wedding because he was ready to do what HE wanted ..was he wrong for needing time?

when i watched this a couple weeks ago it was with my dad who introduced me to radiohead which became my favourite band. I heard the first notes in the background and shot up and yelled “it’s radiohead” and we were both smiling giddily for the whole scene. This is my favourite radiohead song, it will always remind me of him.

i hate this movie the betrayal is too much for me to handle... yeah darcy isnt the best person in the world but she didnt force dex to propose to her and didnt deserve to be betrayed.... rachel makes me sick she should have not said "we are just friend" i just felt nauseous all through this movie ....i never should have watched this movie :( ... i know its just a movie but i know what betrayal feels like and its not funny aaarrggghh

If your friend has been talking about the same guy for 9 months I think it is pretty obvious they like him. It is clear Rachel is shy and Darcy and her have been friends for a long time so she knows this. She was being selfish and just didn't care. I had a friend do the same thing after I told her I liked this guy and was going to make a play for him, but she deliberately beat me to it and tried to compete with me. She has done that in the past, but before it was with a guy I had already been dating for a while and she went behind my back and went on a date with him. As you can imagine, we are no longer friends. The problem with girls like Darcy is that she also has low self-esteem, but appears confident. It feeds her ego to be able to "win" over her friend. I am more of a mix of Darcy and Rachel, I am confident but not as good looking as some of my other friends and have to use my wit and intelligence to win over a guy. But I am also outspoken and would never let my friend walk all over me like Rachel allowed Darcy to do here.

The thing that irks me the most about this movie is how antifeminist it is. I get that they made Kate Hudson's character unbearable, so why didn't her friend dump her instead of sleeping with her fiance? She is the villain by not being truthful to her friend, not to the guy between them. And if you are gonna not end up with John after his heartbreaking monologue you deserve to be with a cheater who will eventually get bored and cheat on you.
