- We met Luesa at the Volusia County Orchid Show and Sale 2024. Then we saw her again at the Central Florida Orchid Society Show, the last orchid show of the season. We talked for a while and asked her if she would be interested in us coming over her house and video her orchid collection.

Luesa has a pretty collection i see! I cant believe that there was frost in south Florida, because its so close to the equator… I notice that there is mostly dendrobiums in bloom, and is it the season for them there? Or is it just year round coincidence😅. Today we are going to meet my grandparent in the mainland for 10 days, and then we are at a mostly tropical area😊😊! Thanks for showing her amazing orchid❤❤
Hi, she does have a nice collection. We are not in South Florida. We are in central Florida, and the temperature in winter can be of 20 to 30 degrees difference between here and South Florida. Welcome to a more Tropical weather 🙌 🤗💓
great growing on the leafles mini. Thanks for the tour you two. I know I like to repeat myself but I am always grateful to see another grower dispell the myth that orchids are weak feeders. Like Nelson says the proof is in the pudding.
The more growers like Luesa showing how well her orchids do getting fertilized on every watering - as much as any other hydroponically grown plant, hopefully the more others learn one can fertilize as much or as little as one wants but fertilizing them well is imo the way to do well.
It's annoying to see beginners get this wrong just because on forums it's all they get told. I gave up trying to help beginners a long time ago because the way Nelson and Lueda and others grow their orchids gets ridiculed online for absolutely no reason.
So I am really grateful that by now at least half of the youtube channels I follow do get it right at least.
And yes I am OCD like Luesa as you can tell 😄 but when it comes to orchid growing I don't think that is a bad thing.

Oh, I love that's it's a family affair. ❤my mum and dad always had vegetable garden and flowers gardens. Growing up , we had to help weeding and maintaining the property. My sister despized getting dirty. Now we all in our 30,40 and soon 50s and we all love getting dirty😂😂even our spouses love gardening and they have their preferences of plants to grow. 😂😂❤❤❤now we teach the youngsters in the family how things are grown, weather it's vegetables or orchids or succulents. ❤. 😊 thanks again for sharing.
