ahh this brought back so many memories! :') i also used to stan 5sos back in my teen days and i've grown out of that phase as well but still love them dearly and will shamelessly wear their hoodies still bc a good hoodie can never go to waste. sgfg is ✨that album✨ and it's the only one i really still listen to frequently (not @ how i gasped at safety pin's and vapor's rankings 💀 those are life changing songs for me) but overall completely agree with everything else! you should rank skz songs next 👀
i’m glad you relate !! i think a lot of people assume you can just grow out a band and move on, but it is not that simple !!! when they really matter, they always will. cat did the exact same thing with those two hahahah. and i respect it heavily. and oh my god, i could Never with skz songs. cat and tried to like find our favourite through the “this one or that one” chart. but it took hours and many glasses of wine, lots of yelling and we still couldn’t get a final answer
I have so much respect for you doing the tierlist and recording the process, I could never haha I was a stan as well in the self-titled & SGFG era! They were a huge part of my life at the time. They took a break and so did I. They got me back with Youngblood. I personnaly liked Youngblood when it released (and I still listen to it A LOT). Listen, from a musicality POV I think CALM is a masterpiece, like all the melodies are absolutely stunning! As a whole however, it's really not great, my least favorite album. SGFG is still my absolute favorite album. I grew up since so that may be why some songs did not age well and are lower on my own tier list. Meaning, I don't listen to these songs as much as I used to a few years back and it's kinda sad but that's life I guess. I watched the livestream and it was painful. Heartbreak Girl was the first 5SOS song I ever listened to. I was literally having a meltown when they put it in "mistakes" like HOW COULD YOU! My poor baby did not deserve that ranking! Because I've always been a huge pop-rock fan, CALM & Youngblood is ranked higher. For me, the first 5 songs of each of those albums is at least in B tier or higher. I would move Try Hard & Rejects lower but expect that I 100% agree with your S-Tier!
u ever into one direction? i wanna make a tier list for them so bad cuz similarly to 5sos i think it’s more fun when they have so many songs from different eras to rank. i found my thought process watching this was like.. i guess i could make two lists where one focuses on the quality of the song itself and one is how much i like them based on how i feel and if they maybe rank higher than they should based on nostalgia. like the song might be trash low key but it’s a vibe so it’s a or s tier.. but on a more technical list its 100% at the bottom u feel?

You should check out Ashton's album Superbloom if you haven't already. Definitely not pop punk, but I liked it and it came out right at the right time for me. Doesn't beat sounds good feels good (lol) but its good.
