Great vid man! Some of the best Solo cam work I have seen on You Tube. I think all the solo cam guys out there should learn from you and this vid:-) Rich from ITZTV
Thanks for the comments guys. The fish are mainly Bass "Dicentrarchus labrax" but there are a few clips of other fish but only bass were taken on the film.
Nice catches! I want to start spearfishing in UK, I have noticed Cornwall is a favored location, a bit far from London, though! Any tips, I'm an experienced spearfisher, new to UK.
@MrEinZwei Yes but the fishing is a little empty and the vis is not as good. You do still get the fish but rarely. I tend to stop in dec, possible jan if the weather holds out and start again v late march/early april.
Great vid - watched it many times. Spent the weekend around the Lizard as the weather was blowing from the west. Good fun going out but the viz was non existent because of the plankton blooms. What's the best time of year to hunt Bass, are they seasonal? Do they come into the shallows more round July time when its a bit warmer? Cheers Dave (Cornish boy ;)
Great footage, i love spearing, live on the south Devon coast and get in as much as i can. Awesome skills and patience there mate! How much lead do you carry? Negatively buoyant or neutral? Bring on some clear water!
@jackhaytread Been doing ok this year. Had 5 bass last week from one of the spots on the video. Not done any filming yet though as my camera stuffed up.
@shrivaldo Firstly, look at the description. It says this is footage from an entire season. The average spearfisherman in the UK takes probably 10 to 20 bass per season... and they are selective, taking the larger ones which are past reproductive age. A 10lb+ bass is over 10 years old and long stopped breeding. It is, however, good eating. By comparison, I have seen many an angler take 10 school bass in 1 session! And as for the netters.. ugh! Point your criticism in the right direction.
Fantastic video. Respect the way everythings done in one breath too. An inspiration thanks!
Great vid, could watch this over and over..

@MrDevonportlad Its a perception freedom. How a couple of mods to accomodate the spearguns, anchor and fishfinder.
