This is the man who said it was only fair that the NZ tax payers should pay the treaty claim of the Chattam island people for what the north Island's east coast Maori, who sailed /paddle over to them and try to wipe them out. Now I've always thought what's good for the goose is good for the gander so the east coast maori and only the east coast maori should have payed. So i think the title " yes minister " is reasonable accurate.
Dont forget that Finlayson stood twice for a seat, but never crossed the line until he was given a high list seat so, 'as long as the people will have me' isnt relevant, he was never wanted, maybe because he took the Ngai Tahu treaty settlement case to govt, (the 5th full and final settlement) and won. Seems he has been in the grip of maori corporations for some time. He comes across as a bit of a self righteous twerp..
If something has gone through a settlement, doesn’t that mean the end of the grievance? How many times has the treaty been settled?
Nice one Chris and good luck for the book!
Chris was part of our social group in the 70's when we were students at Victoria University
Top man Chris. A lot of respect for him
Finlayson did a sound job.

He's not wrong about Stuff. Usual Wellington leftist crap.
What he endorsed NZ'ERS are paying for now. Is he half Maori ?
Any chance this book is available as an audiobook? Sounds brilliant!
