THANK YOU for emphasizing that modern coleacanths were unknown to “western scientists.” The locals knew about them as long as there were locals - they were rare because they live so deep, but they were known.

Here's a question that I have wondered about for almost 40 years....the American Gar...is it considered a lung fish...if NO, why not?
Actually we can say that lobed fin fish _aren't fish_ and then the term "fish" is fine 👍
Unless sharks are fish. Then we still have the same issue.
Cloaca means Sewer. There was a Goddess; Cloacina (cloa-keen-uh).

Pike are teleosts and relatively young as a species.Garfish, on the other hand, them things are ancient.
