@@sixamcc Can you please tell me are the photos as misleading as they appear? This does not look like Storybook decor or architecture. It looks Victorian to me. Do the other swatches of these items show a whimsical cottage or woodland themeing that these images don't? Did Maxis name the pack? I really would like an honest answer as to why this pack is so improperly named & marketed. The choice of the word Storybook is so very misleading it seems like false advertising to me.

i've paid for sixam's cc on patreon in the past because it is top tier. i might as well give it to ea for official dlc. that's a solid collab.
I don't think it's any coincidence that we're getting so many references to Pleasantview and Strangetown with the nursery kit and new EP- it's Sims 2's 20th anniversary this year.
Them giving more acknowledgment to Sims 2’s 20th anniversary than Sims 4’s (the current game) 10th anniversary is hilarious

At what point will Simmers learn…these aren’t leaks! Literally every pack has “leaked” in the last few years and simmers go crazy. This is part of EA’s strategy to get the packs out at this point.

theres people that have access to confidential sims stuff and theyre able to filter stuff early. for example, life and death ep was being teased by an account on twitter since july, the same person who teased a lot of early information about lovestruck aswell
At what point will simmers learn…those ARE still leaks! Why is the Sims community the only gaming community that gets so combative over the word “leaked?” If you punch a hole in your own boat, it’s a leak regardless of your intentions.
@@IronSeagull I hear you, I do. But in other gaming communities, we don’t get these “leaks”. It’s only in the Sims. I just feel it’s become part of their PR strategy. We can call it a leak, sure. But if you’re in a yacht and you’re punching a hole in one of the life saving rafts…to draw attention to the yacht…it’s far from a leak.
@@AdmiralDLR That’s not true. We had two very prominent leakers earlier this year with very good track records. Pyoro leaked lots of Nintendo stuff and Midori leaked things related to SEGA/Atlus. Sure people wondered if they were glorified PR stunts, but nobody was complaining about calling their leaks what they are. It’s not using the word “leak” that’s up for debate, it’s whether it’s intentional or not. In EA’s case yeah at least some of it must be intentional or they just let it happen from lack of care. The example you gave is still a leak.
@@AdmiralDLRAre you kidding me? Plenty of other games have had leaks (in fact it's rare to find one that hasn't these days), as have other forms of media such as movies.
And yes, if you punch a hole in your raft to draw attention to it/yourself, it's still a leak. An intentionally created one, yes, but a leak none the less.
And honestly, I think it's more that EA doesn't care about leaks (since they DO drum up publicity) than that they intentionally create them. The Twitter account that first leaked this new EP and Lovestruck is not affiliated with them as far as I know.

you are the reason I know Sixam is maxis spelled backwards. you are spot on about their CC being the most maxis match in texture and style. there are a lot of CC creators who do maxis match in texture, but not all in style.

I don't see how they could make a pack like this and not include the Specter household. This is the perfect pack to bring them back, and with the Crystal Creations pack, Olive can summon Grim and we can play out that whole storyline.
I have known of Sixam for a long time & never knew that their name is Maxis spelled backwards. So thank you for this info, I am surprised as many years that I have been playing that I did not realize that.
I hate to say it, BUT.....could it also refer to ea ignoring the anniversary? so no more freebies. if you want to celebrate the sims franchise, you gotta buy a kit? o.O am I just being too cynical?

I am so happy that they're working with more content creators with these kits. I personally love the Gothic theme more *gothic babies🖤🕸️🦇 😊, but seeing it in the pastels will be great for those who love to do royalty challenge, or the Disney princess. challenge

@@queencleopatra007 Leaks can be both intentional and accidental by definition. But ok if that example doesn’t work for you, if you punch holes in a water pipe, water leaks out of it. You don’t just say it’s not a leak because you did it on purpose. So please, stop. I’m so tired of these comments telling me and other news channels to stop calling leaks what they are.

I don't care they got a cc creator to make this kit. It's poorly named as "Storybook" & I absolutely hate it because it's false advertising. This isn't storybook it's Victorian Goth.

@@IronSeagull I'm really getting annoyed at my phones "autocorrect" bs. I intended my comment to say Victorian Gothic not Goth which is already 2 design periods mashed together. Victorian era is 1830s to 1901. Gothic era begins in 1200s & evolves into Romanesque in the 1600s. So for Victorian decore to have Gothic vibes it is already blending two very distinct and seperate styles.
So yes, to what you are saying stuff can be 2 things. Stuff can even be 3 things. But this is called Storybook. Which is of itself a VERY distinct form of decor. Storybook was created in the 1920s as a whimsical embrace of actual images in story books brought to life. It was a direct response to the bold towering art deco styles of that era. Storybook in Britain was also very different than Storybook in the US.
So to ask, why can't Storybook encapsulate Victorian and Gothic art well yeah, it can. However this kit is not called Storybook Victorian Gothic Fusion Nursery. It is called Storybook Nursery. I expected actually story book whimsy. I barely see even a hint of that. I feel honestly disgusted because it was a lost opportunity. I see the creator has commented here and I don't mean to offend them. Perhaps they did not name the pack. I wouldn't put it past Maxis to screw over another creator the way they did Aveline with the Desert Luxe kit which was absolutely abhorrent to a point where they had to hire Indigenous consultants for Horse Ranch and give that desert luxe kit away for free after the backlash. I know most white people missed it in the community but the indigenous simmers like me were apphauled by that kit & how tactless it was. I thought perhaps Maxis would have learned but they haven't.
