Paul use a section of pvc pipe that reaches the bottom of the tank and extends 6 inches above the water, with a funnel to place the white sand in the areas that require it. It should essentially eliminate any dust, and you can be very exact as to where you want it.
I think Australia would be a great place to visit! I think you and Brenten should go together. You could share expenses and have an adventure. The tank looks great!!! The pleco is just beautiful. Community tanks are my favorite and I love me some plants! I think you need to catch some wild jacks for the shark pond. I just love to watch them swim. Have you thought of a horned shark? I just love their spots. I am glad you go to local shops. It helps small businesses and lets people know what cool stores are at their back door.
I think you should do an 8 foot fresh water dicus and Cory tank and bring MD Fish to Florida to come help decorate the tank. He will have that tank looking good ❤
Rescape but soil in bags where you plan on putting plants anubius and java fern attach to wood or rock. Even with capping soil off your bottom dwellers will still dig it up
*STICK ANUBIAS TO WOOD* when rescaping Paul! It will die in the substrate! You can either tie it with non toxic string or use aquascale glue to stick it to wood! Same with ferns! Plus it just loims awesome after a couple of months!
Just a reminder that clown loaches often get 8-12 inches and are pretty thick. They are schooling fish so the more the better. As they get older they’ll probably start eating the small fish in the tank. You’re better off with some cories because some of them can get about 4 inches, and they’ll be better suited for the tank
If your angel fish keep hiding bring those two back to aquarium store. I would put the tiger barbs in a small tank 20 gallon they are fun nippers from hell. Lol I love the little devils but I put them in a smaller 29 gallon community tank. I have been keeping fish since I 15 years old a passion of mine. Instead of doing a massive tank in that space. I think you should do a variety of small tanks. Properly scaped like you seen in the store. If you are looking for some inspiration I definitely recommend checking out MD Fish tanks. That type of content would do amazing! ❤
Get a professional aquascape designer like tanner serpa to help you construct a black water paludarium or a heavy planted jungle themed aquarium then you will see how spectacular freshwater can be.
Smash the like button people, need that rescape. Would be sick to see you get in to some aquascaping and maybe even start transfer aquascaping ideas in to big ponds in the future
Also with making the driftwood sink; you don't need to soak it for 24 hours. If you submerge it in boiling water you can have it done in a few hours. ;)
Make sure to feed the pleco some algae wafers and maybe cucumber or zucchini, the clown loaches will munch on that stuff too. Also look every now and then to make sure your pleco is not eating your plants.
