V8 to V6 would’ve kept a semblance of the AMG roar and could have still sold the car, but V8 to i4 was too big of a jump and steered too far from the C63 lineage.

The looks are on point, and the specs are impressive, but as others have stated, it's a hard ask for the consumer to fork over nearly $90K USD on a turbo 4-banger hybrid. This thing is going to be a service nightmare, forced induction on small engines is hard and leads to why so many of them blow up in the first place, pair that with a massive electrical system that is now integral to controlling the boost not just through an ECU but by having to physically spool the turbo constantly and bank accounts are going to get wiped out getting this thing fixed if something goes to pot (which is a matter of when and not if for modern MB).

Good review. I prefer my 2023 CLA45s. Same M139 engine, less weight, better looking wheels, looks more aggressive from the front, 85% of the performance. And AUD75k cheaper.

I really like the design but I can’t get behind all these “aero” styled wheels Mercedes is doing on so many models. At least this 63 could’ve been an in-line 6. The 4 cylinder is killing the sales on these.
My biggest gripe with the interior - comparing to the 204 and even 205 (which i've owned both) - the HARD PLASTIC everywhere. All the lower door cards are cheap Toyota-feeling plastics... I was astonished - all Mercs generally have still that soft feeling fake leather / vinyl combo on the door cards, but yeah when I sat in one at the dealer that really disappointed me. Otherwise it was still solid... not 204 quality but good overall.

This C63 looks great but all the technology leaves me cold. I want to be in charge when driving a 'drivers car' using my skills to control the vehicle.
Why are car companies not looking into better cylinder deactivation technology? With proper focus and investment, AMG could build a 700HP twin turbo V8 that gets 30+ MPGs on casual highway runs - using just 2-4 cylinders. Auto manufacturers have gotten lazy… What happened to innovation solving modern problems?
@ why? Because it’s the same 2 or 4 cylinders getting overused… right? So, why not innovate an engine that rotates those part time cylinders? See what I mean, they haven’t even tried to improve on the tech… that’s all I’m saying
Given AMGmeister does not typically review new cars, I think hes trying to maintain his relationship with the dealer for future car reviews. Thus why his review is by far the most positive one on this piece of garbage.
AMG seems to prove their engineering prowess with this car, but just too many downsides compared to the older cars. Too heavy, too complicated, 4 cyl engine, big batteries, tacky iPads, ridiculous badging, no physical controls, fake noise, just not worth it. Appropriate in some cars, but not an AMG. EU regulations need a dose of reality or risk losing their car industry to China.
I have something to say. I've never driven an amg V8 before. But i had the opportunity to drive the new C63S E-Performance. In my eyes it drives amazing, scary fast, flat in corners, sporty (fake) sound inside (which i don't mind), nice interior, outside looks way better than a M3 (my opinion). With no further amg background it impressed me a lot.
Hmm 🤔...all things considered, I agree, nice forward-thinking car. But with a few key considerations, the price, the servicing & the relative usability; the 43 is the better buy. The same engine can be tuned to very similar output & it still retains the full usability of the platform... no trunk space loss, no E/S class level weight, & if you just have to have the look, you can always order the front end fenders & hood. Even a brake swap is on the table due to not having the regen system to consider. So, you make a 43S or just get a previous gen 205 with either engine & have lots of loot left over for performance & cosmetic upgrades. Having a 2018 GLE43 with the Weistec tune & filters, with having done the 63 brakes, wheels & tires upgrade, I can definitely vouch for getting a previous gen C43 & doing the same upgrades! The tune is $1.5K & takes the m276 to 440hp/520tq with better economy & sound. The big brake upgrade was found on Ebay & done for about $3K. The wheels & rubber would be cheaper on the C, but is optional. My point is that with all the extra money saved by even getting a new 43 & playing around with some parts bin swaps & a tune, the new 63 isn't as nice as it looks down the line.

Given AMGmeister does not typically review new cars, I think hes trying to maintain his relationship with the dealer for future car reviews. Thus why his review is by far the most positive one on this piece of garbage.
Your being wayyy too nice to the exterior, interior and powertrain. This car is not fantasitc. This is a pile of Shlt.

AI engine car when? Absolute crap.
The wagon is almost passable… sedan is a miss in almost every way.
fucking sad
No, No, and NOOOOO WILL NOT SPEND A DIME FOR IT.
this engine gay as fuck...bring back the V8
I have something to say. I've never driven an amg V8 before. But i had the opportunity to drive the new C63S E-Performance. In my eyes it drives amazing, scary fast, flat in corners, sporty (fake) sound inside (which i don't mind), nice interior, outside looks way better than a M3 (my opinion). With no further amg background it impressed me a lot.
Well said but now drive a 2014 C63 507 and a 2022 C63S and you’ll see why people don’t like this car. Sound and emotion means a lot.
Nah!
Excellent looking AMG, but it's just another Mercedes.
I like it
No
C45 AMG more like. 🚮🚮🚮
They should have just put the v6 f1 engine instead of 4 cylinder
Design top, motor flop.
