Just curious how come the first thing you do when starting your video is asking for a sub. It’s kind of weird because as a new person to the channel, why would I sub right away when you haven’t shown us anything. LoL. PewDiePie made a video a few years ago on how be a better TH-camr and grow your channel. He even mentions that. He said remind people at the end of the video after they watched it. That could be the reason why you have the views without the subs. Plus it’s 2024, it’s safe to assume people know what do with videos they like. His video had a lot of good tips. I’m not content creator, but now look at the things he mentions. Anyway, good video. If the algorithm brings me back to your channel, I’ll give you another view. 👀
I wish I could have went with you. I worked at Fort Rapids from 2011 to 2013 In the arcade and also the concession stand in the water park . I also swam there on my days off because I got a discount for working there so I could have given you some info on the place. Anyway it was sad to see the place go under like it did. Thanks for the video I was curious to see what it looked like inside now.
We used to vacation here with our kids! We stayed in one of the rooms with the lofts. It was much like Great Wolf Lodge is today, but cheaper. Miss my kids being that young. Great explore! Took me back to some wonderful memories. Fortunately for me it was the early years when it was safer.
It was awesome! I lived in Columbus, and went there several times for several years with my children. When they started having a roach and bedbug problem people stopped going we stopped going, and we started going to the Kalahari.
I used to go on vacation there but unfortunately I went when it was unsafe I still can’t get over of what happened I just happy it was shut down… (I went to the hospital after my stay I had to get my leg amputated)
A excellent video as usual….i love the calmness of you content…..love when your with Dave & Josh my 3 favourite happy guys ….❤….love from Western Australia 🇦🇺
@SteveRonin I love your urban exploration videos. Your photography and videography skills are great. Really feels like im exploring with you. Keep it up Steve✨
Great video Steve. You and Josh really made me LOL. 😄😄 Kinda sad to see it burnt down, but that's why you guys do what you do. It lives on in your videos.
As someone who has watched every video about this place I genuinely think this is the best one! I really liked how you included all the details that other videos don’t! I love this video and I hope to explore this place as well but then the fire happened 😢 Great video though!!
When I was in the master suite I saw some camping propane canisters and food. I think someone was cooking in there and that's what burned the suites. Hotel tower and water park are still fine though.
Hello Steve a excellent video like always I'm glad that you guys got to go down those slides looks and sounds like a lot of fun thank you so much for taking us along I left the whole time you went down😂🤠👍 take care love from upstate New York❤😊
Used to go here every year with my youth group. I remember the last time I went, the Chlorine was so strong my eyes burned sitting there. By the next day I was sick, fever, and it lasted over a week. It was always such a fun event for us, but I’m not surprised after our last trip we took there. I’m surprised it’s still standing after the water pipes burst a few years ago. So many were hopeful the right owners would get it and restore it ! It’s sad to see its current state!! It has so much potential! Thank you for exploring here! This is only the 2nd video I’ve found off fort rapids since closing!!
@ yes!! The lifeguards were even getting sick! It was winter when the water lines burst, and it made the outside of the building was a thick ice! Last month the hotel caught fire, they decided it was a total loss, the water park wasn’t affected by it though. Thank you for posting this video, and responding! Love your videos! They’ve really helped me cope with my journey of finding my brain tumor and my current battle with brain cancer ❤️
Great video! I really enjoyed it. When Josh was coming through that one tunnel it sounded like music from Psycho the movie. Sad that it caught on fire. I appreciate you and all you do to bring us such great videos!💕💕💕
Hello steve, from philippines, what a huge place, because of poor maintenance and ignoring to give a solution to the problem of the place, they lost there business and everything turned into waste, but they still can renovate it and look for better solution to continue the operation, another beautiful exploration,be safe always❤
43:12 wonder if the 🔥 was due to that gas leak and a squatter using a propane tank… hope no one was inside the building when it went up in 🔥. I’m glad you guys got to explore and experience some fun prior to this tragic event. Thanks for giving us the history and documenting the last moments of this place.
Thanks for the video. I'm really excited to see what this place looks like inside. It's right next to the mental hospital I was put in a few months back right before it burned down. A lot of people that were in there with me were homeless, so you may have been right about people squatting in there.
After stepping on that fat chunk of glass I'd be pretty iffy and nervous to go down that slide. Unless you got the glass stuck at some point earlier in the day. This is one of my favorites as far as exploring, abandoned resorts / indoor waterparks. I'm glad to see it still in pretty good condition overall and hardly any type of vandalism or graffiti - which surprises me honestly for being Columbus. Either way this was a great video! Can't wait to see Josh's when it comes out.
Crazy that you got there in time too! Just saw the end that it had just burned down, how tragic. Wonder if it could have been from a propane leak? Sad regardless, thank you for documenting it!
@@Daveeeeeeyhowyoudoing it was in good condition for an abandoned place, even though it was abandoned for less then 10 years. Yes it burned down, but I’m talking about the condition of everything as they documented it before it burned
They were shut down for several reasons, from health concerns, to fire hazards… it had just been purchased by yet another owners shortly before the health dept and police showed up and made them evacuate the guests immediately and close. The most recent owners (as far as I know the current owners) there were talks of an inpatient mental health hospital or apartment complex, and the people surrounding fort rapids were fighting it due to not wanting a place like that close to them. It’s really sad, this place had so much potential too.
I live in Columbus and I remember going here as a kid when they first opened. Not sure when you went there but just recently the hotel section had a pretty decent fire.
Steve , yes homeless people live in places like this not all are harmful in fact i have met quite a few of the nicest homeless folks give you the shirt off their back
Sick waterslides are a totally cool sick waterpark I'm ashamed it's not running anymore I love Klint Eastwood any which way but loose love that movie great work Steve awesome tour❤
When I tell you ive drove past this place and wondered what the inside looked like/ literally said out loud I want someone to cover that building….😮 I gasped when you said Cbus Ohio. ❤ ok now I’m going to watch. Too excited.
You like those horn chairs? You've gotta come down to Texas and go shopping: There's an amazing variety of incredible, heavy handmade furniture incorporating animal horns, bones and hides.
Since you're so close, you should visit Waverly Hills Asylum in Louisville, KY. It's rumored to be haunted ! And in Bardstown KY Wickland is rumored to be haunted (old governor's mansion)
I remember this place I was sick from the water to the point I almost die I was happy when they shut down Fort rapid. But u guys went in Ty show how it is now days 😊
You couldn't have paid me to go down that black slide. You couldn't have paid me to go down any of them, actually. Indoor waterparks freak me out. Abandoned ones really freak me out. Lol Your videos are always so well done though!
My partner overheard your excitement of the game cube type controller and started geeking out. 🤣 He said that there was a span of time that resorts like this had built in plug and play games that could be purchased sort of like pay per view movies. You could rent or request the controller from the front desks to play the games. He remembers them from when we were kids (early 2000's). We're from the central Ohio area, his family used to travel quite a bit.
I went there when I was little. A few times I went it smelled a little… off, almost like sulfur? I’m not really sure what it was, even my parents & siblings smelled it. The only way I can describe it is sulfur-y. Other than that, it was an amazing place.. Almost like a Six Flags lodge or Great Wolf. I miss it!
I live in Columbus only crackheads took family here . Reports of not only bacteria but bed bugs I would never step foot in this building . I hope you didn’t take any souvenirs with you when you left those bugs are travelers .
Thanks for watching and your support! Help by liking and sharing the video!
@SteveRonin Thanks for all your hard, it shows! I shared the video. I love all your videos and your dedication to what you do. Have a Merry Christmas

Appreciate the love from Western Australia!
This place caught fire a few months ago, some of the roof collapsed.. .shame.. .
Exactly a year after a abandoned hotel caught on fire in my town but it happened on the 24th and not the 28th
Not surprised, with the warning of possible gas leak.
Those slides are so cool 😍
Congratulations for 1M subscriber you deserved it , here I am again watching your exploration to the waterpark just keep yourself always safe..❤

Always amazes me how many of you guys go into those mold filled places totally unprotected.
A fire broke out in this place. Crazy you could explore here!
The laundry room must've been massive!
Somebody need to reinvent into this place and open it back up
Not far from me!! ❤❤❤❤

Also in neighboring eastland mall closed too few other stores n restaurants closed in those area

The HVAC plant, Electrical room, and the pump room would be sick to see

Reminds me of the great wolf lodge, but great wolf is like dirty and falling apart now. Will probably meet a fate similar to this.
Shame about the resort. Looked like a pretty happening place. You don't maintain it, this is what happens. Neat though Steve. Be safe. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah, it really is a shame. Always be careful with abandoned places!
Typically companies will leave the lights on cause for some reason it's cheaper then to have it shut off.
