Hey Dinesh, been watching your content from the time you built up your Thar for overlanding and I am hooked to say the least. That keeda to try overlanding keeps speaking to me everyday😅 The closest I get to overlanding is youtube, cuz I don't think I am cut out for it. Coming back to your video, I have heard you talking about spiders and that one may nest inside your ears. I think you should consider wearing earplugs when sleeping (like the ones you wear when riding, orange ones) or you can try those 50-100 Rs ear muffs. Firstly that will fix the worry of spiders entering your ears and secondly it will also keep you warm in colder climates. Also, have you thought about building a camper on the back of your Hilux, either replacing the load bay or a bolt-on? The reason I say this is, while rood top tent, sleeping the back seat or pick up bed are good options, a lightweight camper with a pop-top roof, will give you option of sleeping over the cab, give you working space, cook, a toilet too may be and most of all, will keep you mostly weather proof. Being light weight, it will not drastically shift driving dynamics (emphasis on lightweight structure). IIRC, Hilux rear seats fold up right? So you will have enough space to carry your recovery gear too. As your son is also growing up, a camper cabin can potentially make it more comfortable for 3 to camp as a family. Ofcourse, I don't know if it works for you, it is only a suggestion. Besides, If interested, being as popular you are, I am sure quite a few people may come forward to collaborate on the build. :)
When you visited West Sikkim, you missed a lot of offbeat locations there. I am from Western part of Sikkim and Only Pelling and places around it are highlighted which by contrast are too commercialised and crowded. Places like Barsay Rhododendron sanctuary, indo-Nepal Border(Chiwabhanjyang), Sopakha, Uttaray, Dentam, Ribdi, chakung have more to offer in West Sikkim. U would have loved it! 👍
