I think this is the most underrated interview of all your podcast and he deserves a second interview. I have listened to this 12 times in 3 months so far and my trading has improved dramatically because of this episode. Hope you get this comment. Again very underrated interview.
Practical points from 019: - With time you become desensitized to losses, it is important to keep learning and persevere to reach such state. - Stuart learned to trade less and keep quality high with his rule system. - Simple works very well, our mind tries to over-complicate things, so you have to simplify things consciously. - A rule/systematic approach helps to keep silly decision making proccess aside. - When changing behaviours you have to take small steps, specially if they are rooted. - Don't approach trading as a hobby, do it as a professional.
He's absolutely right about reading market wizards again after having years of experience. It was one of the first books I read on trading...read it again after 3 years and it was like the first time. Great interview.
Aside from technical analysis skills, what I learned from the past 6 months is, as a trader I need to transform myself from a human being with emotions and feelings to a robot.
I don't think it's to be a robot because we're all human beings, that's imposible. It's about to be discipline with our operation even if we feel fear or greed.
Ray Snut this is one of my all time favorite quotes and your suggestion couldn't be more perfect. I'm posting it above my computer screen today! thanks for the reminder :)
Starting out I found that keeping share size small and $ size small prevented me from loosing too much. I learned to trade with a 50 shares of a $5 stock. Then 100shares. When we start out we are learning HOW to make money. Not starting out making money. Patience is a big part of making money.
Absolutely amazing interview/podcast. Been struggling with the discipline for the past 2 weeks of stick with my plan. I've realized it and working on developing the right habits now. I think writing them down and sticking to the plan will definitely help. Awesome insights. "It's easier to complicate things, and difficult to simplify things." That is truly powerful. Thumbs Up! And subscribed.
Great education Aaron. I have gone through a lot of the ups and downs of Trading, and listening to your guests gives me more confidence to keep to my plan. Keep up the great work!
As a beginner then i made alot of costly mistake which i don't want other newbies to pass through, trading at loss causing alot of trauma both emotionally and financially. For reliable strategy on how to trade and make profit contact me at douglaslampert9@gmail.com
I’ve just listened to this again and after a couple of years of trading. This is great advice. I wish I’d taken it on board the first time I listened to it!!!
Thanks a lot for your show Aaron!! It's a great idea to centralize all these interviews of great and successful traders in one place! Hope by way that by hosting all these interviews, you are are become a great trader yourself... do you mind me asking if you trade for your own account? and if yes, what do you trade! Lastly, being myself an ex-trader in investment banking in fixed income, and having switching a few months ago to learning FX - currently heavily back-testing price action strategies - I WOULD LOVE IF YOU COULD INVITE MORE FX TRADERS ON YOUR SHOW!! Thanks again for your great show and keep up the good work!! Best, Dima
I think if we want become succsessful trader we should sitting in front of the pc, The key is "consitancy" Casino wins becasue of consitancy and random player lose money all the time

Good interview but I have never used a trading plan. The market changes and I can change and adapt quickly depending on what the market gives me. I only trade futures not stocks.

+Yan He, the more you can do so, the better... Though I don't think many people can say they feel absolute zero emotion when trading.

Why do you think algos are so successful
Even robots lose money.
