And for only $150/game so the dedication is real… my old dance studio owner/teacher (Fantasia Dance Co) growing up, Cheryl Andrews, was a DCC for part of my time with her & she would have to miss our dance competitions every weekend for the couple of years she did it. Judy & Kelly always told her that she’d never make the team bc she didn’t have the right “look”, they told her she was too short & bc of her scar across her stomach from a life saving surgery she had to have, that she would never make the team & should just give up. She never gave up & she finally actually made the team. Quite a few of my old dance teachers were DCC like Crystal (she was so fun, one of my favorites) & we had some hella good choreographers come in from all of the connections Cheryl had from her time at DCC but our dance company sucked overall lol. I also know a girl I grew up dancing with who made DCC but IMO, she shouldn’t have ever made it & only did bc of her connections with Judy & Kelly - Caila Sims. They’re dedication is real though… I sure wouldn’t put myself or my body through all of that for less than $3,000 a season. No way Jose.

I find it surprising that the entrance, kick line/jump split aren't something that the ladies wouldn't learn BEFORE even trying out. It's known well beforehand that these things are required to be a DCC.
The first thing I would do is take some tape and mark out the 5 yard line and the 10 yard line and I would get some muscle memory going so I hit my lines on four an eight without having to think much about it. You better be able to do the splits very well by the time you get there and I would’ve been practicing my kicks for months before I ever showed up. These videos help the gals know what is expected of them and I would start practicing the minute I decided I was going to try out. I would also buy some cowboy boots and make sure I got used to doing a drop split and in them.

Learn what you are talking about. There is a specific way they want them to do it. If they practice it and do it incorrectly then they will get in that mindframe and do it wrong.
I get it about jump splits but how are they supposed to know entrance before trying out when they don’t even know how it goes or the footing or steps. Just curious
25:15 Kendall and 28:20 such pretty, vibrant performers and worked so hard only to both get cut on the last night of TC. A shame the team wasn't made bigger that year as I feel both would have been a great asset to DCC.
I have a ton of ideas for videos but some that would be interesting to see is “last cuts of TC” or “girls who were cut and came back and made the team” or a “most dramatic moments” (like the office visit with Holly, Chelsea’s “meltdown” in locker room that Kitty overheard, office visit with Jenna) or DCC icons (like Britney S, Kelcie R, Abigail K) and a Rachel W “best of” ...just a few off the top of my head
As much as she gets she probably gets plastic surgery she needs to go on a diet she keeps on the cheerleaders about there weight what about her it told in one episode kelly go's to a cosmetology doctor so that tells you she gets her face done to keep it young I wish I could afford it I don't blame her

I wonder how much of this is done this way because of the show though? That field entrance would be significantly easier to learn if they learned the sequence in the studio, then transferred to the field. EVERY dancer has learned a choreography is space that smaller than the performance venue. This could be the same way.
Can we get all of the locker room reveals please. I don't know but something about seeing those girls run into those locker rooms and seeing these lifesize posters of themselves along with their names is so magical. I can't begin to imagine how they feel. We need more DCC Journey videos. We need Nicole Bulcher's DCC Journey and Simone and Sydeny Durso and Jenna. We also need the best of Cersten.
I wonder how much footage there is of the DCC before the MTT days? Before they had the practice bubble they and the team were outside in August Texas heat. It might be 110 on the field. Even in September at the old Texas Stadium it might still be over 100. I hope they had a lot of Gatorade out there.
AT&T Stadium didn't open until 2009 and the show started in 2006 so there are 3 or 4 seasons of them out in the heat of Texas. I know the heat got to one cheerleader pretty bad in an earlier season.
I dont get how they didnt alr teach themselves this entrance, especially since the DCC has been using the same entrance since forever. It’s possible to go to a game, record them and learn it right?
It's one thing to learn it alone, it's another to do it on a full field with someone watching for every mistake you'll make. Even if you practice on a full field beforehand, who is watching to correct you? It's tougher than just knowing steps theoretically, it's also about style, smile, being in sync with others, etc 🤗
the way they are presenting this with pretty much every rookie struggling so much (even the ones who become one of their best later) makes me doubt the process. Like from my own experience, when you catch yourself thinking everyone is not getting it, you are teaching it wrong.
I've always admired the DCC ever since I was a little kid. Always wanted to be one (living near Detroit even, I was a Cowboy fan Lol). Good manners and hard work is a great ethic to have. I appreciate the fact all the gals work so hard to perform to the DCC standards and always using Ma'am to show respect to the ladies in charge. Definitely some Texas manners going on there.

They could start practicing alone, then in pairs, then smaller groups and build to large group. I hope they work it this way and only show large groups on camera.
Some people have never been on a team sport and think they can comment on how Kelly and Judy coach. Trust me you want coaches that are going to be able to pick the best candidates and call you out when you need it. That’s what makes them DCC. My most memorable coaches were ones who yelled all the time but at the end of the day you knew they cared about you and wanted to see you succeed. It’s called discipline.
When do they rehearse the bit before they start dancing, where the announcer says: "Please welcome America's sweethearts, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders"? Is that the "DCC March"?

These young woman work hard! Keep in tip top shape, take major criticism and are literally at the mercy of the set life style and ways of the team. Meanwhile somewhere getting paid by billionaire owners, can't even give them a decent living salary. I say the NFL is really good at displaying some major inequalities and clearly the big winner there. They should demand better pay and show their true maturity that the coaches are always trying to pull out of them.
We should be more concern about how the girls are treated than their pay. More pay would not get rid of the bullying by the powers that be, the mean girl packs on the squad, eating disorders, injuries, etc. etc. More pay did not help Lily, Hannah and Brennan last year. The lack of empowerment from Kelli and Charlotte needs to go away before the pay issue is addressed.
I realize it's important to strive for excellence but really....any one of them would look good on game night and they can all dance . Nobody in the audience notices all those details or gives a crap about a mistake
Judy and Kelly need to get some classes on how to give feedback. Instead of demeaning all of these young women, (maybe it's for ratings) they could teach more effectively and provide feedback in a way that would promote growth and not shame. No one would talk to the football players this way. I am sure that it makes for great entertainment, but it looks like some pretty crappy teaching styles.
