    I didn't think the print cartridge could move; it seemed really stuck. When I saw you move yours in the video, I wiggled it around and unstuck it. Now it works again. Thank you.

    HP Support, Please respond. I have the 5510 model that has a different type of carriage jam. When i turn the printer on there is a violent noise that I believe is a mechanical cog having come out of alignment. Printer is not under warranty but please tell me the steps to open the machine to attempt a fix, thank you.

    Followed the instructions to clear paper jam, when I turned the printer on it’s side ink poured out all over my cream sofa and ruined it.

    HI, My 5220 makes a horrendous jackhammer noise on startup and keeps saying there is a carriage jam. I have tried resetting with front button, and by pulling out cord-no change. Have pulled out the cleanout door and checked for paper, nothing there- no change. Pulled out the cartriges and put back in- no change. Actually when I open the lid to access the catridges they don't move on thier own to the middle of the carriage track. I have to manually move this. Should this happen? Still makes that horrible jackhammer noise, please am I missing something here? I can not find anybits of paper in the printer.

    Hi support service. last few days I encountered a problem in my printer. The paper jammed in HP Photosmart 5524 printer, i took the paper as suggested in this video. When i turned on my printer, I heard a loud grinding sound, it seems the roller was stuck and the cartridge does not move from the right side of the printer. I've tried to search for the solution and followed all instructions in this video, nonetheless, it did not work.
    usually, every time i turned on my printer there was a sound like rolling rollers inside, but sounds smoothly. apparently today it seems like grinding and the rollers were stuck. can u help me out how to solve this issue.

    ok but my carriage cannot physically or manually move its just stuck no paper jam gears work
    error message says something is wrong with the ink carriage
    but when I open the goddamn flap it just says that the flap is open and doesn't let me go back to home screen??? can't fix shit

    I press "Ok"
    "Printer preparation. Please wait...3:00 minutes"
    I wait for 3 long minutes...
    Carriage Jam: Clear carriage jam. Touch Show Me to play the animation.
    I press "Show Me" and watch the animation.
    I press "Done" and follow instructions.
    I hit "OK"
    "Aligning cartridges. Please wait....
    AND......back to "Printer preparation. Please wait....3:00 minutes"
    Repeat
    Repeat
    Repeat
    Over and over and over and over.
    What am I doing wrong?

      I just wanna bypass this and go to scan but "printer preparation" keeps reoccurring. I don't see any jams and followed instructions on the video....

    I mean I have tried all these above and nothing, I need some help. I bought this printer today from a private seller ( used and works perfect fine according to the seller ).
    I come home and turn the computer, first thing that comes on is jam cartilage thing. So i am at the pour no matter what I tried the jam cartilage is on the screen the entire time which makes it difficult to go to any step. At this point I am frustrated, no sure if the guy sold me a messed up printer or I need help from HP. I checked throughout the printer there are no loose papers at all.
    Any help from anyone will be greatly appreciated

    My printer says error check cartridge on the right ..I replaced it with a new cartridge usually this takes care of the error Not this time ..it still say error remove and replace cartridge ..I removed and replaced the cartridge several times still no go...       +Stir Crazy I understand printer display's an error carriage jam' message displays on the printer control panel. The carriage, which holds the cartridges, stalls in the printer.     my 5520 keeps getting a "clear carriage jam" error. There's nothing in its path I've shined light all through it. Followed every step here and what it says on the printer screen. still same thing. NOTHING AT ALL IS BLOCKING THE CARRIAGE!!! I keep holding out hope because I like HP but this is ridiculous. it started with not printing black ink bought two HP ink cartridges in black, neither worked then finally after following steps to get the ink to work, CARRIAGE ERROR! So I don't know if the black works now or not, can't get past setup 😨😐

      Mhsan xo Unplug your printer and move it manually to the center. If you cannot move it manually either then call out Technical Support as your printer may need to be serviced.

    Totally didn't work. My carriage is stuck on the right side and I can't move it. And I can't see what's underneath. There's no way I can see it from the right side. CAN ANYONE HELP?

      By the way I disassembled it. The problem is there is no way to see it from the right side and it seems like there's something stuck below the cartridge (not paper). HELP!!

      +Deb Prebble Sometimes a carriage jam will start by presenting itself as a paper jam. You sound like you have a carriage jam. I've included the "A 'Carriage Jam' Message Displays for HP Photosmart 5520 e-All-in-One and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5520 e-All-in-One Printer Series" document ( ow.ly/4mTGds ) for you. Please ensure you have completed all the steps in the document. If you have completed all the steps, then please follow the instructions in the "Service the printer" section.

      +Melanie Sacala The A 'Carriage jam' or '0X610000F6' Message Displays on the Control Panel: hp.care/2jnpubB document from HP is the best document that I could find. While it says that the carriage jam error displays on the printer, all the steps still apply for this issue.

    Keep getting 'printer preparation please wait' continually. Nothing works

      +Mariana Amorim Please try a hard reset of the printer by following the steps below.
      - While the printer is on, please unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
      - Now unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
      - Please wait a full 60 seconds.
      - Please plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet. It is important that you plug the printer into a wall outlet to ensure it is not being starved of power by being plugged into a power bar or surge protector.
      - If the printer does not turn itself on, please turn the printer on.
      Please let me know if the above does not correct the situation.

      +Mariana Amorim There is something else I would like you to try please. I am presuming that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges.
      - With the printer turned on, please open the cartridge access door and wait until the cartridge assembly moves to the middle of the printer.
      - While the printer is turned on and the ink carriage is in the middle, please unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
      - Please remove all the ink cartridges from the printer.
      - Please close the cartridge access door with all the cartridges removed.
      - Please plug the power cord into the back of the printer and into a wall outlet.
      - If the printer does not turn on, please power the printer on.
      - You should get a message indicating one or more of the ink cartridges are missing. Do you get this message?
      - Please put one of the cartridges back into the printer and close the cartridge access door with only the one cartridge loaded. Do you still get the same message about missing ink cartridges?
      - Please put the cartridges in individually and close the cartridge access door. Does the message always say that there is a cartridge missing?
      - After all the cartridges are loaded into the printer and the cartridge access door is closed, do you still get the printer preparation message?

      Yes, they're genuine. I get the messages that they're missing, after I put one by one in and it recognizes the cartridges. After all are inserted I get the preparation message again.

      the carriage jam is still showing after carrying out all the instructions and the ink carriage stays at the right instead of left. I need help, please.

    Eine Frage, wie kann man so einen schlechten Drucker auf den Markt bringen, Der Drucker hat nie Verbindung zum Wlan Router und egal was man auf dem Drucker drückt, Der Drucker druckt einfach iwas um möglichst viele Farbe zu verschwenden. Und wenn er mal was druckt, dann ist die Qualität miserabel. Kauft euch niemals diesen Drucker.
