I love Baldy. Purdy stats: avg 255 yds per game, 72.3% completion, average 9.1 yds per pass, 5 passing TDs, 2 rushing TDs, 0 picks. Average rating 115.1, average QBR 84.5. Those numbers are flat out excellent. Anyone doubting him doesn't understand west coast offense. Cut them up with the short pass game, screens, and a smart run attack. Then hit the deep ball off play action. That's why Purdy has massive air yards, but when a normal fan or media "analyst" watch they only see the short and mid game. They don't understand that all the YAC is a product of Purdy understanding the offense and putting out accurate balls on time. Purdy is running the system at a high level but they think he's just lucky to have skill around him. Handling and distributing to all of those playmakers takes huge skill. He hasn't even had a "bad" game yet. They don't understand that Purdy hitting those short and mid routes with an insane completion % sets up the haymakers in the passing and the running game. That's why Shanahan loves this kid, he's a perfect WC QB. The team loves him too, that says a whole lot. Shanahan isn't settling for Purdy, dude is thrilled, and the bonus is Purdy costs less than the average apartment in San Fran for the next few years. Best fit at QB in San Fran since Walsh was coaching. I played in college and coached high school as a coordinator for 6 years, so I'm not a pro, but this kid is a hell of a player and anyone with half a brain for football is shouting it from the rooftops lol.
Purdy gives off a different type of vibe that makes you wanna follow him off a cliff if he leads the way and thats something the 9ers haven't had since I can remember the future is bright in the bay thanks to Mr relevant ❤
4 years of college experience, beating down every doubters, hungry to succeed, always expecting best out of himself, and constant professional is Purdy.
Purdy is so good. His talent is timing, understanding the play. He is really good at other stuff. When his back foot hits turf he knew where he was going in 2 back steps. Dude is really good. Like awesome. So cool to see.
What's crazy to me is not only his poise, but how quick his arm healed. There were conversations where the surgery would take long, he couldn't throw a deep ball, lot of questions. Incredible how not only he came back before the season, but to have this type of start is insane!
i mean his arm healed on the timeline they gave him. where everyone got confused is when the conversation was between tommy john and what he did. and for whatever reason seems like a lot of fans still think he had tommy john. The surgery he went for he healed on the exact timeline they set for him. maybe a week or two early.
@@RyanLoetscher thanks for clarifying. Still pretty incredible as you know the body can take longer. Good thing he’s still young. Hopefully he will stay healthy for years to come 🙏🏼
Fr. It feels like we've already hit more deep balls this year than the entirety of 2019 lol. And a lot of air yards are due to scheme. Like, Mahomes averages 7-9 air yards per pass. It's gone down each year, with the 9 being his 50 touchdown season with Tyreek and them. Brock is looking like around 6-7, which reflects his scheme working the short and intermediate game more than pushing it down field. 6-7 air yards per attempt is gonna be what it looks like for basically any west coast style offense, cause they don't really focus on throwing deep and to the sidelines.
Brock Purdy is the REAL deal …. I remember last year watching him in preseason move in the pocket and throw a TD and it was so smooth he looked like a veteran. I was like who’s this kid? Why is he 3rd strong. He’s calm cool and collective., u can see it in his eyes when he lines up under center. He reminds me a lot of Tom Brady. Tom wasn’t fastest or strongest arm but he was the SMARTEST and PREPARED!! Joe Montana same thing. 49ers struck gold and didn’t even know it. Some things are just worth waiting for. I pray he stays healthy.
@@batcher4788I don't think we've seen anywhere NEAR his ceiling yet. He’s so good. Only downside about CMCs dominance is we score so quick in the red zone on the ground, Kyle rarely has to use Brocks arm. So his 5 TDs is pretty low. But makes sense to go to CMC for that reason.
Frankie Albert was way before my time, but I've studied him. He was short, he wasn't fast, he didn't have a great arm, but he was a master of deception. I think it was Albert who invented the bootleg play. Anyway, when I saw Purdy brilliantly execute that double pump fake against Seattle last year my first thought was of Frankie Albert.
For some reason i believe the 9ers are hands down the most dominant team in the nfl and coach is sandbagging to sell the illusion that we are still vulnerable in some areas of the game so when it comes time to play the big name teams on tape it shows our weaknesses but in real time there aren't any weaknesses at all,its like we beat these teams up for a bit and get ahead then everything slows down and they catch up then boom we turn around and blow them out in all aspects of the game, its like we have yet to use all our weapons the way they can be used but when we do its lights out football
I can't help but think this too for that Cardinals game. Shany normally manages the clock with run plays but with how efficient our offense was that day, did he tell the defense not to try too hard to run it out? Cardinals 99 yrd drive lasted like half the 3rd qrt and their drive in the 4th also ate up min. Or could just be me being too optimistic about our defense😅
Yep, Purdy knew he had the safety spinning circles and just threw it to the open spot. I wasn't on the Sanchize hatetrain until that play. He made me scream at the TV after an awesome play for my team. That's a special amount of incompetence.

West coast offense. Qb steps will tell the qb where the reciever should be. Young didn't know jack shit until walsh teach young count your steps and release your reciever will be open. That's Walsh, the genius. I hope kyle is bring that back. Today's defense not ready for it. Top 10 offensive teams in the league is using Kyle's system. Lots of movements. 8 of them is running that system. Kyle might just have started west coast offense 2.0 Niners needs to win the SB. This team is ready. Just stay healthy. I don't see any team can beat the Niners.
When you look at it, Arizona's QB threw like 41 passes and only completed half for 260 some yards or whatever can't remember exactly, Purdy threw 21 passes for 280 some yards, they say he's on pace to get the 9ers record for most passing yards in a season. He's only throwing about 25 passes a game averaging 255 yards per game. If he states healthy and continues to play good he could end up around 4500 yards, 20-30 TD's and maybe 5-7 picks.
I just noticed sometimes Purdy will drop back a few steps as if he's a lefty, then turns back as a righty and boom! I wonder if thats some redirection/look off technique?

Purdy's spatial awareness is almost spooky. Never seen anything like it, and I've been watching football for a long long time.
I've seen it in Joe Montana. That seven step and five step drop and hitch is from Bill Walsh's playbook.
He's trash compared to hurts
Lol yeah they are calling him Bot Purdy.

The Ghost of Bill Walsh coaching Purdy on his footwork! Sturdy Purdy! Let’s go get #6 and put Purdy in the same discussion as Montana or Young!

I was thinking the same thing. Purdy placed it perfectly against that coverage.
