Hello everybody!! I sit and watch your videos for hours sometimes. You have a great channel, happy family, and a beautiful little girl to begin the next generation. One reason I wrote was to just give you a little advice, if you are prone to accept it. I have been a mechanic for over 45 years. I still work sometimes, only sometimes because I was diagnosed with a rare cancer called a Pancoast Tumor. I have been watching you harvest potatoes today, and something I have noticed with your equipment. It's always squeaking and just making all kinds of racket. Those machines need to be cleaned more often...power washer. Then grease areas where it squeaks. It will last longer, and it shows you care about your equipment. You may say that you don't have time? Clean it, grease it after you use it. take an afternoon and get all the boys together, and get some stuff working properly. Did those machines sound like that when they were new? anyway, I love your videos so please keep making them. I hope I didn't make somebody angry about what I said. You are a great bunch of guys, and keep up the happy family.
I wish I could get a wagon of your rocks from that potato harvester. It seems everywhere I move, I never have the rocks I need. When I started remodeling this place I am buying now, there was one wheel barrow load of rocks in the whole yard. I need 10 times that for the garden projects I have in mind.
So cool to see Andrew feeding cattle with wheelbarrow vs skid loader. Intro today is polished not that 3 years ago wasn’t good AND I subscribed after Halley (sp) and it’s so odd hearing grandpa say “I’m Dad”. Fabulous channel. Best on TH-cam
In northern Maine I was third generation to work for the Caron family who grew potatoes. And I worked on a potato machine. And we took out the big rocks and whatever got missed before it went into the big trucks that were driving on the side of us. so this is interesting to see how you guys do it.
Takes a lot of time. There were people back in the days when those machines were pulled by horses that "created" one machine their entire worklife. One machine in 40-50 years.
Hey There. I came over after reading the comment you left on the Arms Family channel. You do a good job on your videos. SO keep it up, stay real and they will come. Take care and God Bless.
I'm really glad I found your channel! I cant wait until my wife and i get some property, I'd love to have a garden and eventually a small farm like you guys or Justin Rhodes.
There’s a huge difference tho between the veggie boys and Justin Rhodes tho Trevor. The veggie boys are honest to goodness, dirt to the bone farmers! They have been born and raised into farming and work it day in day out 365 days a year. Everything every single family member does revolves around farming and that type of farmer is a dying breed unfortunately. It’s a tough job but there’s no job more rewarding than what they are doing and Justin Rhodes “farm” can not even be remotely compared to what the veggie boys are doing!
Mark Oliver I have no need for my farm to be online because everything is sold to the local community right from my produce store on the farm and I don’t need any additional advertising at all so there are no links. My farm is bout just like the veggie boys except instead of growing 80 acres I grow 20 with a smaller store and one 40’x48’ greenhouse and I don’t have large livestock, I only raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, and rabbits.
When i was younger like mid 60s we picked potatoes by hand into burlap sacks. We use to hand then on some picks on each side n it wad like a belt that we use to put on. We looked like peticoats around us this was in idaho.
Hi Andrew , do you remove the rocks from the field as the machine is picking them up for you . it only seems better if a lot of the bigger rocks were removed !
Very interesting machine for the potatoes. Looks like potatoes take a lot of hands. Maybe you can show the process of digging the potatoes? Or did I just not see it? My husband and I both really enjoy watching your channel!! Keep up the good work! 😀🥔
North east Pennsylvania, We try to pick up the rocks but sometimes we feel like we grow them too. Its a lot of Marcellus shale from all the natural gas.
Awesome!!! Really enjoyed video! Your channel is going to blow up! This is pretty much how we farm too. We started a produce market store on our farm two years ago and trying to grow it to good size operation. We farm around 800 ac of row crops also, but I love growing ppl food.
A&R Farms Thanks for the comment! You really think I’m gonna blow up? We will have to wait and see 😂 How is your market doing? It takes a couple years to establish yourself. We have been doing it for a while now.
The Veggie Boys this will be our second year with store on farm. Last year we didn’t think we’d get the business we did, but it blew up super fast. Got 10 times the business we were expecting. We are pretty much the only farmers doing it in our area. We’re even growing “you pick” plots this year bc ppl want to come out to farm and pick some of their own stuff. I’m seriously thinking of letting roe crop land and equipment go if things keep going as good as last year. I enjoy farming grain and cotton, but sick of losing money
The Veggie Boys and yes sir, I think your channel will definitely blow up. I’ll be in comments of others channels telling ppl ab y’all. Awesome job and beautiful family. I think you’ll get more subs than regular farming channels bc you’ll get those subs but also subs that love gardening and growing produce

Do the smaller potatoes get sold differently? Do you pick up the rocks each year to get them out of the field, or do the potatoes like the rocky soil? Looks like everyone is there helping, good job.
So how many ton of rock do you harvest? Looks like about 50/50 rock to tater. One of my guest professors was an extension tater specialist in Maine. I asked why Maine taters were always bruised. He said it was how they were handled. Does you harvester give you issues with bruising? Especially with all the rock?
It seems you have to have a machine for every veg you grow. Can’t you share that machine with 10 other farmers ? Seems like you only used it for one day ! You guys never stop working !
The Eva’s looked nice, we don’t have them in Australia Please, I do have a question as it was my first time seeing the big potato harvest or which saves you hand picking them off the ground then putting in baskets. The question on the field 5.35minutes into the vlog, I saw rocks and many potatoes falling of the harvester, the potatoes looked good, why do they get thrown out with the rocks?
I just watched this video and I seen A LOT of rocks. Wouldn't it be beneficial to use conveyor to put rocks in bins/ containers and sale them or put on property that's not good for planting?
Wow, that machine sure beats ya'll pickin up the taters from the ground. That's how I've seen you harvest in 2021...wonder what happened to the potato pickin machine ?
I noticed something, you have the shale rocks on one belt, do you put this into a bin and get it out of the field or just let it fall back into the field?
One of my 4th-grade students in Brewer, Maine wants to know if you are pulling out the same rocks every year or are you removing the rocks from the field? Why do the boxes say watermelons?
Ok, as a small vegetable gardener, when I dig potatoes, the skin on them is pretty fragile and rubs off at the touch. How does this process not beat all the skin off/bruise the potatoes?!
Bohemian Rhapsody The skins toughen up after the plant dies. Most gardeners are so eager to harvest the potatoes they don’t want to wait, which I completely understand lol.
kenebec is my favorite to grow, I also grow viking and gold rush (small amount of this). I am not big on russet types as they are too dry. I like boiled potatoes.

His buh bye getting closer. Love your videos.
I should have been a farmers wife. You gave me tears when you held the camera on your wife and said beautiful, she is.
Wow all the rocks that lifts is amazing! I would be tempted to run it again to just pick up rocks!

Everyday is work day on the farm. Thanks for all you do.
Some real genius behind farming equipment. Mind blowing how folks have figured all these moving parts out to do all this work. Great video

Looks like there’s more rocks than stars in the sky but that machine did a good job keeping them separated . Nice job!
Billy Brady Jr It’s our soil, lots of shale in our ground. It definitely feels that way sometimes 😂
This are some really nice rocks With those potatoes
Looks like a fine crop of rocks too! Seriously though, you should find a market for all those rocks. 😎
Wow. Never new how much work it took to get the potatoes. 🍟 great job!
Awesome farming, please keep up the good work, thanks for sharing your thoughts and talents and humor with your audience
I’d be pulling another wagon for rock. Looks like the best crop of rock next to my dads land.
Sure brought back memories. I was an engineer for Lockwood for many years.

Lots of rocks but it sorts them out well. Always liked growing potatoes.
Pretty Cool, it always amazes me how Folks thought these machines up!
Thanks for sharing 👍.
JO JO IN VT 💕😄
Wow! 2 rocks for every potato.
Reminds me of growing up in Idaho. I hauled a lot of spuds to the cellar... Great job!
lovely family. i wish I was one of your family members.
First time I have seen you use the big machine.
Only previously seen the smaller one.
Looks like a second wagon should go down the other side to dump the rocks into lol
👍👌🇨🇦❤, that potatoe picker looks like something outa a Mad Max movie, gr8 video people, a combination spud and rock picker, awesome
Enjoyed your video
Blessings To All Worthy Of Being Blessed
Wow, the potatoes rolling down sounds like dollar coins popping into your pocket !!
When i was younger like mid 60s we picked potatoes by hand into burlap sacks. We use to hand then on some picks on each side n it wad like a belt that we use to put on. We looked like peticoats around us this was in idaho.
Hi I'm from India.Awesome farming! No words to describe your hardworking.GREAT JOB....
Grabi... high tech farming inyour place. We harvest potato in our place manually.
Such a happy family
Do you go back and check those potatoes that were spit out with the rocks?. Looked like some good ones in there.
You are the only man in earth who looks shaves older then with beard. :D
Wow you have. A lot of stones in your soil flinstone boys at work!
Should be making Pennsylvania potato vodka with them spuds!
I love farming. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Andrew , do you remove the rocks from the field as the machine is picking them up for you . it only seems better if a lot of the bigger rocks were removed !
This is the real life to be honest and I don't know why many people don't realize that
Very interesting machine for the potatoes. Looks like potatoes take a lot of hands. Maybe you can show the process of digging the potatoes? Or did I just not see it? My husband and I both really enjoy watching your channel!! Keep up the good work! 😀🥔
The small ones are the best.
Happy family...❣️
Also amazing how much weight your cardboard boxes can hold up
Very nice and beautiful helpful video
Where are you located, do you ever try to pick up the rocks, can’t imagine farming ground like that
North east Pennsylvania, We try to pick up the rocks but sometimes we feel like we grow them too. Its a lot of Marcellus shale from all the natural gas.
every time u turn over the soil up come more rocks I press them back in
I’m sure the boys are smart enough to build a gadget to harvest the rocks and use them as wall barriers (chicken wire) around the farm.
Use the rocks on lanes
Haha
Wow love it. Injoy
Those are some weird looking watermelons😂

@@arfarms5711 if he do pick your own he can say bye by to picking beans
those are a lot of potato's. how many acres do you dedicate to potato's alone? Love the channel.
your potato digging machine
goes in round and round and comes out here.
I got a potato
I got a potato
I got a rock.
Wow lots of rocks!
and they tell everyone "oh we are 'Just a Farmer'"
Hi From Iraq
You know, if you decide to change your name at anytime, it should be Spud Kings.
Do the smaller potatoes get sold differently? Do you pick up the rocks each year to get them out of the field, or do the potatoes like the rocky soil? Looks like everyone is there helping, good job.
I just started watching your videos yesterday and I absolutely love them I think I watched them for about four hours yesterday. Where are you from?🌻
Time for a potato party!
Start the fryers!
OMG YUM!
Hi from Alberta Canada
Hello!
thos is amazing 😮
so very interesting ☺️ Blessings
A. rock picker would be in his/her glory!
Great video 👍
Thank you so much!
what do you do with the other potatoes that are left on the ground?
I guess they pick them up, too.
they will grow
It seems you have to have a machine for every veg you grow. Can’t you share that machine with 10 other farmers ? Seems like you only used it for one day ! You guys never stop working !
These aren’t ours actually lol, my cousins work at a farm where they raise 100plus acres of potato’s. We just borrowed the machine for the day
Cool🥔🥔
What do you do with the undersized potatoes
id use that machine to clear out all the rocks in the field too.
The Eva’s looked nice, we don’t have them in Australia
Please, I do have a question as it was my first time seeing the big potato harvest or which saves you hand picking them off the ground then putting in baskets.

Yes your mom is beautiful
I just watched this video and I seen A LOT of rocks. Wouldn't it be beneficial to use conveyor to put rocks in bins/ containers and sale them or put on property that's not good for planting?
Have you tried growing sweet potatoes up there in PA?
Wow, that machine sure beats ya'll pickin up the taters from the ground. That's how I've seen you harvest in 2021...wonder what happened to the potato pickin machine ?
Why does the machine drop potatoes back on the ground? Is it replanting them as seed? at 5:21
Wow that’s a lot of rocks
Liked
Heck you need a cart to catch all the rocks and go make a rock pile out of the field.
Fascinating
Nice 👍
You mention the spud kings. Your cousins. Do they have a channel on TH-cam?
I noticed something, you have the shale rocks on one belt, do you put this into a bin and get it out of the field or just let it fall back into the field?
Who planted the potatoes in the rock feild u should find a way to pick rock at the same time u would have a way bigger harvest
All those rocks and the high drops there’s gotta be a lot of bruising going on
The ones I see in the store are cleaner like you don't see no sand at all do they get washed?
they could sell the picker for a rock picker it would grade them make a fortune.
awesome
Amazing
One of my 4th-grade students in Brewer, Maine wants to know if you are pulling out the same rocks every year or are you removing the rocks from the field? Why do the boxes say watermelons?
Small potatoes are the best, nobody of butter job is.
That seat is a mechanic seat should have gone green
How is food so inexpensive with all that expensive machinery and acerage
How do cows keep warm in winter?
About how many pounds of potatoes do you harvest every season?
that's a lot of rocks
