I built a hot box out of recycled wood and painted it black. I made a cover from an old storm door and used this product to open the cover on sunny days when it got warm in the box. Have lettuce, spinach, and kale all winter. I got 3 years use out of the first opener and bought another for this winter. I love going out in the snow to get lettuce.

The Univent opener fits my late-1970s Eden greenhouse perfectly.
This is a superior-quality product that will give you many, many years of trouble-free service. How do I know that?
Because the units I'm replacing, one of which started leaking fluid last summer (2021), have cylinders stamped with "Orbesen Teknik 1984".
These old openers had been working year in, year out, for 37 years ! One of them still does work.
When buying two or more openers direct from the manufacturer, the Univent and, no doubt, other products in the range provide excellent value for money: Feb 2022, I paid 29 GBP per unit with free delivery from Denmark.

can i use this on a vertically installed windows rather than in angled?
I started a Facebook page called: " Harbor Freight Green House sharing group". It's new so need some members to get us going. I put these vent openers on my harbor Freight green house and they work great
How do you install on wood frame and wood window, vertical? As in a window in the side wall?

This device is designed to allow hot air to exit the green house. What are people using to control the flow of air into the green house?

Do these cylinders need to be taken indoors for the winter? Our low temperatures here in zone 6 are 0 degrees Fahrenheit?

I am interested in this product. How long the cylinder will run? Can I refill or have to replace it with a new cylinder?

According to our statistics the cylinders has a minimum lifetime 10 years. You have to replace it with a new cylinder afterwards.

@@JOrbesenTeknikApSDenmark Hi, after one year of use the cylinder stopped working (doesn't open the window anymore), it seams like the cylinder somehow distorted. Can hot air in the greenhouse cause it?

How do you stop the piston rod housing, which protrudes above the upper arm, from breaking the glass?

If you have your attention from 0:34 to 0:40. You can see that the piston rod is being install to a clutch, that doesn't make it possible to break/touch the glass.

Firstly i appreciate your prompt reply. I believe I am actually talking about the "clutch" , The T shaped peice into which the piston rod is placed and is pinned. Mine is definitely pressing against the glass. I had to remove it yesterday for fear of breakage. Mine is a small "Halls Popular" greenhouse 8feet x 6feet, common in the UK.

goedemorgen, ik heb de automatische opener gekocht, en wil dit installeren, maar ik kan dat onderste plaatje niet vastmaken aan de serre. ik heb wel in de doos ook nog twee terrasvijzen ( ik weet de echte naam niet) kan het zijn dat ik die voor het onderste moet gebruiken?

This vent doesn't appear to fit Palram greenhouses. You should supply additional hardware so that it fits.

Mine works too. I used the Woodglut plans and performed it without any problems.

Will NOT work in countries where winter is 20°C and summer 35°C. Tested.

You are not supposed to leave it outside in winter, it will mess up the pressure
