    Having just completed my first ultra ever and having run it in these, I can confirm that, for trail and up to 50km, these are a pleasure. Beyond that, no idea as I never tried to run that long in my life😊

      Excellent !! We are hiking the TMB in July. I may use scramblers and Z-Trails/H’s

    1. The Scrambler Low may be my favorite Xero shoe. Hands down, best closed-toed minimalist trail shoe. It has such a good weight-to-protection ratio.
    2. I want to be Harvey when I grow up, though I'm not sure if he has yet.
    3. You just gave your singing away? That felt like it should have been exclusive Patreon-level material. 😄

    And a question for you regarding the actual subject matter of your video :-) - one of my favorite running shoes EVER is the Xero Mesa Trail II, and I'm wondering how it compares to the Scrambler Low in your opinion. I don't particularly care whether or not it's waterproof. The Mesa Trail II drains almost immediately and dries so fast that any waterproofing feature on the Scrambler is not that important to me. What is more important is how they fit, how well they can be cinched up for controlling the fit, traction, and durability. I'm over 100 miles on the Mesa Trail II with virtually no sign of wear yet, not even on the tread. Do you have thoughts on how these two compare? If the answer is too long, maybe it's justification for making a comparison video between the two?

      Great question but I can not do the answer justice. as my original Mesas are too small for me, 12’s and then I over corrected with 13’s on Mesa II. Loved the Mesa II, but haven’t used them a lot due to over sizing!

      @RandyKreill Hi Randy! How quickly do the Scrambler Lows dry? Or have you not gotten them soaked yet?

    • @RandyKreill
      @RandyKreill  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Prodigalson0078 they’ve not been soaked yet! I finished R2R 100 in them, dry … have not worn them since. Using TerraFlex IIs… keeping Scramlers like new for races. Mesa is awesome… especially for less technical trails and shorter distances!

    Thank you for the review, Randy. You said that the outsole has great traction on trails, but what about on pavement, bitumen roads and other similar hard surfaces, especially when those surfaces are wet? Also, do the lugs push up into the feet when the shoes are used on hard surfaces?

    • @RandyKreill
      @RandyKreill  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I felt secure on all surfaces and I did not have that slight feeling of wearing cleats with Scrambler. I used the insoles and with those and the outsoles, protection was just right for a reasonably tough 100 miler. That said, the pavement was dry for my race.

    Hello Randy, first sorry for my English, I am using a translator. I always run with my huaraches sandals with 10mm soles and I run long 20k runs perfectly without problems. I'm looking for running shoes with a 10mm or so thick sole that will allow me to run just like my huaraches, which one do you recommend? xero trail mesa II or Xero Scrambler? Thank you so much!

    • @RandyKreill
      @RandyKreill  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe Mesa is slightly lighter and thinner in the outsole than Scrambler. I need to get some new Mesa’s in my correct size, as I’m getting this question frequently! I think either shoe should work for you!

    Hi Randy! Would you say the Mesa Trail ll and the Scrambler Low fits the same? Or one feels looser/righter than the other?

    • @RandyKreill
      @RandyKreill  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry I can’t say as I don’t have the right size in Mesa or Mesa II. Best guess is equal fit! I need Mesa in 12.5.

    Stack height? Can you use it for tennis on turf?

    • @RandyKreill
      @RandyKreill  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sure. As long as the tread is allowed on a turf court. A well-designed minimalist shoe is very versatile.

    Got a question for you next year I might be doing the Florida lake to ocean hundred K and you go through a lot of wet bugs and all of a sudden stuff is probably gonna be wearing sandals. They said everything underneath there is pretty yucky, so I was looking for a mega grip probably but Zero shoe the new one does trail EV do you think that would work or should I look for a regular mega grip type of a soul either I guess a Shama Luna whoever makes them I’m not. I don’t think bedrock makes the make of grip anymore. Any thoughts would be great for you or anybody of course I’m thinking out of all the guys I’m going with if we go I’ll be the only one in sandals but I’m thinking it’s the best shoe choice because we’re gonna be in water all the time so any thoughts that would be great I like the Hachi but I’m willing to try the other thing if we think that would work better I don’t know about the top that would just fall apart and water or not all right love your videos keep it up see bye

      Mud and sandals can be brutal. Maybe pack sandals in your vest and run mostly in Xero Aqua Sports…
