I haven't even finished watching the video yet and just wanted to say what an excellent video! As someone who loves to ride but has no idea about bike components or installations, you've made something which seems confusing look pretty straight forward. Although I will not build my CYC X1 pro, at least I will know how it was built. Thank you. Best video so far on the X1 CYC Pro
Actually I used to 8:55 and I have a 72 volt battery 40 AH and I'm getting well over $4,400 watts out of my buffing motor. I'm maxed it out at the 4400 I got the high voltage kit and I do Max 4400 watts so yeah
What a well thought out adaptable versatile design, and power goes without saying. Nice pace on delivery of content. I imagined the new gen 3 on a Christini two wheel drive frame as I watched. With fat tires that would be and unstoppable combo!
That crazy whining noise is why i chose the Fang750, and idk what is wrong with the other bike but my top speed is 40.8mph full throttle while peddling as fast as i can using a 48t chain ring at 25amps, it will hit 33mph full throttle alone.. bike only weighs 55 with the 52v jumbo shark batt included.
Great video, im wanting to upgrade from my rear hub motor to X1 CYC Pro an just wondering if can connect a headlight to the controller, I was looking at bafang at first till I came across this bodboi
Seems like more parts (e.g. 2 chains, 2 chain rings, separate controller, etc...) means more room for part failure. Bafang BBSHD has less parts and gave me hell during assembly. Thank God for Covid lockdown. But now that it's up and running I am very pleased with it. Other reliable traditional car and bike companies are using Bafang now or Bosch, another reliable company (e.g. reliable spark plugs for over 20 years). And I think they are favored b/c of the simplicity and reliability, along with 3rd party parts options from amazon or eBay.
I looked up the parts and this is pretty expensive to buy especially for diy. You can buy 2 e-bikes now for that diy. That battery pack was expensive I'm sure.
Absolutely but 2 ebikes will not compare in performance . Generally those ebikes will have 750 watt motor with limiter for speed and 1/4 the torque of this motor. This motor is 3000 or 5000 watts depending on the which controller is selected . I will do video soon showing the difference in performance :)
love the build video very informative but to be honest that build seems way more complicated compared to a simple bolt on bafang. And you can get Bafang's BBSHD upto 3-5000W easily .
I can't believe how small the controller is for the power of the motor. I hope it and all those cables are waterproof. One thing, on the look of the bike it would really help if the battery pack straps were coloured to match the frame where they are overlapped on the frame, would look more professional, I am sure it could be done with some good tape and spraypaint
I just thought of something better, to get a length of 2" plumbing pipe, slice it lengthways spray the correct colour and fit onto the tubes to cover the battery straps
i was thinking about buying a full suspension e mtn bike for around 4500-6500..but this has changed my mind... I have existing full suspension carbon mtn bike...I just need to see exact bottom bracket to get and what battery will fit my bike
As always you guys do another great installation video, well done. I'm curious how you feel about the sound the CYC X1 Pro makes; is it tolerable for you as well as the people around you? I love the design and controller options of this motor but I feel like there is no stealth factor to this motor and using it on mixed use paths might result in walker / jogger / acoustic bike outrage.
It’s definitely louder and more noticeable than a Bbshd but it’s a lot more enjoyable specially with the torque sensor. It doesn’t bother me personally but it may not be preferable for some. But the stealth model is much quieter. We will do another video on that soon as well.
Awesome build! Great information and detail, also I noticed there is no shift or brake sensor added. Are those sensors not needed?? Now I wonder if that triangle battery pack will fit into my Kona Big Honzo??
Great videos, lots of information. My question is : which set up will have higher top speed for 26x4 rear hub motor fat tire ebike, 1) 750 watt motor 60 volt batt or 2) 1000 watt motor 48 volt batt. I don't have a DYI bike , so i'm looking to buy one. Any advise will be appreciated, thank you.
In a hub motor, Volts will increase top speed, Amps will increase acceleration. So assuming the controllers are suited exactly to the motor and battery, 750w 60v will probably be faster but the 1000w 48v will get to its top speed quicker, (it will also feel more exhilarating and fun). A fair warning, this will vary from controller to controller, as some can dump a lot more amps than others. If the 750w60v motor's controller can dump over 16Amps it will perform very similar to the 1000w48v (assuming the 1000w48v controller gives out around 20Amps) with the advantage of the higher speed, and disadvantage this will burn out your motor if you push it too often and too hard. The optimal situation would of course be 1000w motor with a 60v battery and a suitable controller that does 22a ± 1a, this would be very balanced and last a long time assuming you buy the best quality parts.
if you are talking about Bafang Hub motors the 750W hub is going to have smaller phase wires than the 1000W hub. U are gonna want 52V at least. Grin technology has the Bafang G62 1000W hub motors for 26 inch fat bikes is a good one. They can handle 2000W+. and 90 phase amps
I love your videos …Another question…since this is a high speed kit and it is a mid drive relying on the chain power…did you face any heating issues or any wear in the chain especially there is no lubrication mechanism in it??
So, what was the final top speed of the CYC? There was a lot of assumptions by the camera man, but I didn't hear the final speed from the operator! Looks fast though!
You prefer the Bafang over the CYC? I do not like the motor winning and so the Bafang is my preference for both the screen display and quiet operation.
Do you think that a multi-speed drivetrain can last at short periods of 5000w full blast without major consequences and hurting the drivetrain's lifespan?
With that kind of power how often do the chains break or simply need replacing? I have a bafang and it wears much faster than my road bicycle (no motor)
That storm frame almost looks Identical to my fluid ht1, and I am surprised the triangle pack fits, (barely), I'm hoping that it fits mine when it gets here.
so when you pedal only, does the motor go into freewheel, or is it constantly connected providing resistance while pedaling? Looks like a great product.
You should be able to hook into a battery blender and add another 30 ah battery, right? Like on a rear rack or something ? 🤔 wonder if this kit will fit on my Ariel Rider Kepler? 😝
Hi .. I have same bike but with 3 front gears and 7 rear gears and I have gear shifters on the right and another on the left side of the handle bar ….the question is ….shall I delete the front gears which already on the bike and use the one with gear part which come with the cyc kit ???? That means also to delete the shifter on the left .
can you dial the cyc x1 to 1500watts i wanted the stealth but figured I'd just get the stronger model and dial things down for the motor but also chain, cassette & drive train wear love the video 🤘
Thanks for talking. Some videos are like "silent movies" and they are hard to follow. You illustrated it well and it is awesome!
I haven't even finished watching the video yet and just wanted to say what an excellent video! Out of the videos ive seen you explain it and show you the best
Fantastic install video! Thanks! It takes all the unknowns out! Thanks for all the details to make this happen!
One of the best tutorial video on any product out there !!... Thanks Dude !!
No ebike build time for me yet, but this looks like something I can do.
HUGE thanks for the video, now to watch the bafang one!!!
10 thumbs up!!
Good luck building your ebike Brad! Don't forget to wear an nta helmet like xnito or bern hudson while riding, cpsc helmets don't really protect you
The CYC Motor is very nice I'm tempted to buy one gor my next build Great tutorial guys 👍🏾😀
Absolutely they are a blast to ride
just a small correction.....150 N.m. (BAC855)
Wow 💪
He said that because I just looked on his link and Golden Motor says 250 😀
What a well thought out adaptable versatile design, and power goes without saying. Nice pace on delivery of content. I imagined the new gen 3 on a Christini two wheel drive frame as I watched. With fat tires that would be and unstoppable combo!
Wild, been riding on a 1000w hub and it feels enough for a bicycle.
I can only imagine a 3000w... Sounds like a death sentence!
The CyC X1 Pro Gen 2 looks badass but, what's the longevity & reliability compared to Bafang?
That crazy whining noise is why i chose the Fang750, and idk what is wrong with the other bike but my top speed is 40.8mph full throttle while peddling as fast as i can using a 48t chain ring at 25amps, it will hit 33mph full throttle alone.. bike only weighs 55 with the 52v jumbo shark batt included.

I agree also that battery pack isn’t setup with a key so it’s very easy for someone to steal it so not worth the risk or price
love the build video very informative but to be honest that build seems way more complicated compared to a simple bolt on bafang. And you can get Bafang's BBSHD upto 3-5000W easily .

is it possible to mount that motor on the top side of the frame tube instead of bottom where you have it installed?
How far you can go with this bike and What is its top speed?😁😁😁
Could you have fit the motor inside the main triangle? Pro's and cons of this?
That was an excellent show, you have me interested and seriously, I'll read more on price and if it will fit my mountain bike. Thank you.

Has Golden Motor thought about offering an option for bikes with internal hub gearing and belt drive?
Awesome build! Great information and detail, also I noticed there is no shift or brake sensor added. Are those sensors not needed?? Now I wonder if that triangle battery pack will fit into my Kona Big Honzo??
By the way I did watch other demos but yours is right on.
Wow, you guys really took Golden Motor up a notch!
Watching the build, i noticed the bald spot on the back tire. At those speeds, doesnt that concern you? Very detailed video, great job.
Tires will be changed out :)
I am wondering if this bike is using normal bicycle chain and sprockets. The motor produces 3000 Watts, can normal chain work with it.
If only the CYC motor was affordable.

Me personally would go with 1000 watt mid drive motor over any hub motors and no less then 52volt battery
With a mid drive you can use the gears to reach high top end speeds or choose to have more torque with lower top end speed
And mid drive are a lot less noisier then hub motors
I would like to mount this setup straight up in between the seat and front frame tubes on a Gary fisher mullet
It looks like it might fit
That’s awesome. However, I think the wire should’ve been took the other way they shouldn’t be sticking out I think but it’s awesome
Looks good.
Any thoughts about putting this onto a recumbent bike or trike?
I love your videos …Another question…since this is a high speed kit and it is a mid drive relying on the chain power…did you face any heating issues or any wear in the chain especially there is no lubrication mechanism in it??

depends. 3000w probably like 75kph. 5000w can go over 100kph
With a 52v battery mine goes 30 mph (50 mph) but is geared for off-road. I’m regearing it soon and will probably gain 5-10 mph.
The chain and the casette will love the power. I mean the wear 😂
Is a "chainstay" the same thing as a "swingarm"?
What size of frame is this bike... ? 2023 question
Yaakana jya sideki yo........gabyaata wo...... good work...
what connecttor did this battery pack come with? is it the xt90 that the CYC mid drive uses or did you need to modify it/use an adaptor?
What is top speed...
I am thinking about buying this , I clicked the link for the battery , it does not say, how many watts is that battery.
I have a Townie 8i with hub gears. Is this motor compatible with this motor?
Where's the break setup I can't find a video that shows anybody hooking up the brakes..?
With that kind of power how often do the chains break or simply need replacing? I have a bafang and it wears much faster than my road bicycle (no motor)
That storm frame almost looks Identical to my fluid ht1, and I am surprised the triangle pack fits, (barely), I'm hoping that it fits mine when it gets here.
one should use grease when installing BB and cranksets
so when you pedal only, does the motor go into freewheel, or is it constantly connected providing resistance while pedaling?
Looks like a great product.
You should be able to hook into a battery blender and add another 30 ah battery, right? Like on a rear rack or something ? 🤔 wonder if this kit will fit on my Ariel Rider Kepler? 😝
That WAS super easy looking. I may try this. Does it have pedal assist, or could it be added?
Yes is has torque sensing built in too.
I would Torque the crank arms to 35 Newton Meters so the arms don't come loose down the road while peddling.
Hello friend how are the weight for the kit😅?
Can one get the CYC to do 30mph reliably?
Will this set up work with a single speed 16 tooth freewheel?
What mm was the bottom bracket on this build mate ?
Hi .. That means also to delete the shifter on the left .
Yes, you will have to eliminate the front gears currently on you bike and use the cyc ringchain.
Will Golden Motor be carrying the CYC kits from now on ?
Yes!!!
Your bothered about the motor scratching your frame but your cool with the fact you shaved half your frame axle away ?
‘youre’
Sorry, ‘you’re’
Yes you are correct , my mistake lol
Should of used anti-seize on the threads in the BB.
BB?

‘of’ ? Should that be ‘have’ ?

Can this be made to be UK street legal?
With current laws where and how could you ride this if you didn't have access to private land.
How do you charge the battery and how long does it last
How can I get one please
can you dial the cyc x1 to 1500watts i wanted the stealth but figured I'd just get the stronger model and dial things down for the motor but also chain, cassette & drive train wear
love the video 🤘
Yes you can with the APP
Can the cyc motor fit on a bmx bike
Where do you buy from sir and how much.
Nice! Very well engineered. What about reliability?

Is there anyway I can get a 152 mm crankset for this?
I wish you had a video showing us how to install the BAC2000 on there…
That’s coming next stay tuned
What is conversion price ?
what size bike is that? Because I have a norco storm as well but the frame size is medium, and I'm worried that it isn't big enough to fit a battery
This is a large
What is this fascination with mid-drives on analog bikes? Adapting is useful only to the point of diminishing returns.
