Oracle would be better off having a "mutual partnership" with the open source community instead of duplicating efforts and poaching part of the open source communities work simply to turn it into proprietary solutions. Or at least it would be better for the computing world as a whole (and perhaps Oracle).
"I mean it's amazing to see some of our performance numbers on some of the SPARC hardware, its sad that it isn't deployed more in that environment" - Does it mean that won't be any new SPARC architecture/server ?
No on account of Oracle at least. Solaris is in maintainance only and no new chips M8 may be the last black, though I would expect a port to a newer process at least once.

That isn't the message that I got. I think he's just saying that ZFS on x86 is more popular than ZFS on SPARC.
