the thing with gambling is that people think their chances go up, but it remains the same. for example: a gambler thinks "if the odds are 1/100 then if i roll 100 times ill surely get it atleast once" so they think the odd goes 1/100, 2/100, 3/100, 4/100.... but no the odds remain unchanged every single try, 1/100, 1/100, 1/100.
