    Man! That's exactly what I wanted to hear from this thing! Killer tone!

    Dang, this sounds great. Exactly the demo I was looking for. I want those huge Marshall Plexi rock tones, I've got a Deluxe Reverb for the cleans! 😜

    This is the demo I wanted to hear. How well does it clean up with the guitar volume knob?

    • @joebarkan
      @joebarkan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, like a Plexi typically does. I find they get a bit thin sounding when you do that though. Fine in a band mix, not great by yourself.

    Hey Joe! Wow, this video is absolutely killer, my friend! 🎸🤘 You've nailed it like no one else - finally showing us what this beast of an amp can really do when you let it roar! I've been searching for a demo that captures that authentic, face-melting dimed Plexi tone, and you've delivered in spades.
    I'm seriously impressed by how you've pushed this amp to its limits, letting that phase inverter and power stage overdrive sing. It's a game-changer compared to other videos where folks are holding back with the master volume.
    Your demo has me reaching for my wallet, man! I've got a custom-built '69 spec Plexi 50-watt that I adore, but there's something about PRS gear that just speaks to me. This HDRX20 might be the missing piece in my tone puzzle!
    Thanks for putting out such an awesome, informative video. You've made my day (and possibly drained my bank account, haha)! Keep rocking, Joe - you're doing the guitar community a real service! 🤘🔥

    Thanks for the video, everyone is doing demos with strats and cleans... anyways, If you roll down the master volume it loses a lot of gain too?

    • @joebarkan
      @joebarkan  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it does, because the Master is before the phase inverter (which creates a lot of the gain) and the power tubes (which create more gain).

      Nice, I was wondering if it was like the Marshall Origin series. Pre phase inverter. Crank it for the goods but more versatile for pedals than a Post Phase Inverter Master.

    great video! enough headroom to gig with ?

    • @joebarkan
      @joebarkan  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question. I haven't gigged it yet, so I can't be sure, but it seems to me that you can get gig-loud cleans -- but you've got to (ironically) bring the master down. Let me explain: It seems that the Master volume is pre-phase inverter, so lowering it prevents the PI from distorting.
      With the master up full, the amp starts to get dirty with the main volume controls pretty low on their dials. But, if you bring the master down to 3 o'clock or even as low as Noon, you'll can bring the 2 volume controls up higher to get louder overall clean volume. Optionally, you can turn your guitar volume down to clean it up (as Plexis do). It's a very loud amp, so lots of room to turn down at the guitar.
      I hope that helps.

    It would be nice to know your settings on the amp but at least we know what kind of gain humbuckers would have on the amp. Thanx for that.

    I have the same setup HDRX to PS2a w reverb in loop - awesome classic rock tones! The pickups make a LOT of difference w the amps overdrive.

      @@joebarkan They are very nice amps. Particularly for the price. Built better than my DSL's {which I love} too.
