- 2022 Making a Difference Award honoree, Randy Rainbow, gives his acceptance speech at the Matthew Shepard Foundation's annual Bear to Make a Difference Gala on October 8, 2022.
Randy has given us the gift of laughter when it would be so easy to cry at all the bigotry and hate we see in today’s America.

This was an absolutely wonderful speech. You never lost sight of the serious nature of the foundation and the injustice that it fights but you made us laugh all the same. What a privilege it must have been for those who were able to listen to it live. And what an honor for you to receive this award. Thank you for making us laugh when sometimes all we want to do is cry.

In today's world, we are hard pressed to find someone to help us through the difficult times. I'm so pleased Randy Rainbow was chosen as an Honoree for this foundation because let's face it - if ANYONE deserves it, it's him! He has brought so much laughter in the face of hatred and bigotry - he has such a wonderful gift, and I hope he continues.

3.) Suburban Horror: The Massacre at Columbine High School.

6.) The Mental Anguish of Andrea Yates.

This was a wonderful speech. I found Randy when he recorded Cheeto Christ Super Czar. He's given me many hours of laughter to the absurdity of the last few years. His talent is absolutely breathless. First - to the Shepards, who took the worst pain any Parent can experience, and turned it into a force for understanding and acceptance - my admiration and congratulations.
