So you told us that not much info is available online about how to update the stagebox manually, then didn't give us any information on how to update the stage box manually?

That is because I am not Yamaha tech support. I did not design the software. I give you the boundaries of the process and the "gotchas" for if you choose to do this on your own or hire someone. Obviously going in to details would not cover every scenario and be outdated 2 months after this video. Just like before, they changed this process several times depending on what version of firmware you are at and what you are going to. So always best to know the boundaries of what you are getting into and call tech support if your firmware is so old, it is not stated on Yamaha's download area.

@@purewaveaudio I mean that is an argument, but the more information is out there the better, even if it is "outdated". The only official thing I see is 7 years old, your video with 3 years is rather fresh. Chances of atleast giving the right direction to look into are therefor pretty high.

Waste of time. Basically you let us know you did it by didn’t help anyone in the process.

Hi i have a ql5 and in simliar position, just to confirm, did you have to update in a iterative way through each update from 1.08 to 5?

Not only multiple times through different versions, but also different ways since the old way for older versions of FW is different then the new way for newer FW versions. Once you get this updated, it will be simpler from that point on. I highly suggest calling Yamaha customer support and they will tell you how to do each way and how many versions you can skip through in the process.

why post a video of you doing an update and not tell us how its done?? this is stupid.

Obviously you did not listen to the video that gives you all the gotchas of what you are getting into when updating the software of this console especially if it has not been done in a long while so you do not brick your system and have proper expectations. The title is not how to. It explains you have to go to Yamaha tech support to go through their multiple different ways that are not published to finish the job. It also gives you the boundaries to know if you have the expertise to do so or yo need an IT person. Stupid or Gold?
