I moved my hitch up 4" & inboard 2", flush with high clearance bumper for this reason (departure angle). Agreedc tho, no trailer is better
In your haste to get to the Dempster, you missed a lot so let me fill you in because there is a lot of country.
If you had turned left at Meziadin Junction, you would have driven back down to sea level and the town of Stewart BC right next to Hyder Alaska (where you can get "hyderized" with Everclear - 150 proof alcohol). North of Hyder are some of the most beautiful glaciers in North America.
You drove through Dease Lake without showing it. Dease Lake is famous for its Jade, both green and black. Turning left at Dease Lake will take you through the Grand Canyon of the Stikine which is bigger than the Grand Canyon of the Colorado. That will take you to Telegraph Creek so named because a Trans Pacific telegraph cable once went through there. Great smoked salmon is available there.
You went through Whitehorse without mentioning it. The capital of the Yukon, It is the home of some great craft beer. Although north, it is still south of Oslo Norway. A few years ago, they hosted the World Nordic Ski Championship.
Dawson City was the home of the Yukon Gold Rush. A lot of famous people lived in that city. In present day dollars, many billions of dollars of gold came out of there.
Along the road, first at Watson Lake and various other places along the way, you could have turned East towards the Yukon/NWT border. It is possible to drive over the mountains into the headwaters of the Nahanni. Stunning. Please consider that for a future trip. During the Second World War, they actually built an oil pipeline from Norman Wells NWT to Alaska. If you know where to look, it is still possible to see it.
Meanwhile, I assume that you will cross the Mackenzie River in your next video.
It was Prime Minister John Diefenbaker's dream to build a highway to the Arctic Ocean. He did so. Of course, it is called the Dempster Highway.
Two last points: You can fit the land mass of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California all together in British Columbia. It is 2340 road miles from Vancouver to Tuk compared to 2197 road miles from Vancouver to Chicago.
Sooooo you'll be planning my trip when I head north of you don't mind. 😅😅
Someone has some time to explore!!
Thanks for your post as I plan to do the northern BC loop route one day.
@@detourexplore6615 Plan to do the loop of the Chilcotin as well. And, the Freedom Highway down to Bella Coola is a hoot! Lots of switchbacks, a trailer is not recommended.
Wow and thanks for sharing!
The custom music is very entertaining 11:07
Ok the “axe is stuck” song followed by the ”coffee coffee” song had me cracking up!
Haha, I'm glad you liked it.
That was a cool touch
Can i ask both of songs name thx
Pretty sure it’s AI. AI programs can now write you songs if you give it a few prompts.
@@Forever871031 He's using AI generated music.
@TrailRecon is one of my favorite channels on TH-cam, glad to see him up North hanging out with you.
Builds an amazing overlanding trailer rig... uses a drop hitch with a 3in lowering lol
Loved the scene where the axe was stuck and the lyrics were telling the story. Genius!
This drone shots are so🤌🏻
So much work getting out content like this. Appreciate the effort and hard work that goes into content like this. Good work big guy👍🏼
Loving the creativity of this entire series - and more of the unique playlists! Thanks for sharing, Shaun.
Thanks Brad!
Watching your video from Silchar, India .You're living my dream Shaun. Drone shots were epic.
Years later I’m still blown away by the cinematic views.
So you start doing off road adventures in an area I’ve always wanted to, then you do amazing adventures with epic cinematography, then you end up in my dream truck (Ram Cummins AEV) jealous is an understatement. Keep up the amazing work man!
Thanks! I'm just following my dreams! Appreciate you watching.
Did not his 4WD quit and left only with RWD?
How are there not more comments about this video's sound track.
A quick tip-add a damp towel beneath your cutting board. It will not slip around on you. Happy Camping/cooking!
You are doing exactly what I have been wanting to do....This is as close to "up to the minute" as I can get from my computer chair in Minnesota. Looking forward to the next installment.
Love the music selections
My wife and I have watched a ton of overlanding videos and as we plan out our rig she has made it clear - no trailers. It’s like “No capes!” from The Incredibles. While I agree somewhat, I am still looking at a small utility trailer that does nothing but haul extra fuel, food, water, batteries, and solar. I am calling it our caboose. After watching this video, I am going to pay special attention to ground clearance and the type of hitch. I also think having a “hitch camera” is going to be a good idea.
Fantastic drone shots Shaun, this journey has been so rad to watch-look forward to each and every video
Thanks for watching!
The scenery is bloody epic.
i love the sound track lol, the ax is stuck lol. I am going to think of the coffee song every morning now
Awesome video as always Shaun. Y’all’s journey to the Arctic Ocean has been an epic adventure so far can’t wait to see the rest of it on both of y’all’s channels.
COOL! I haven't watched TH-cam in a bit but I always love it when two creators combine efforts for Epic Adventures.
You are very lucky brother
Lmao...the coffee song threw me off guard. It's been a hot minute since I've watched a TSTN video. I miss it.
Shawn your cinematography is the absolute best out there
Hey, thanks!
So that does not look like the Gladiator. What happened to it? Sorry, I ha e not watched in a while. Been too busy buying a new house
Or maybe it is the Gladiator?
once again i'm happy to have decided to never tow a trailer. Those lake side spots are just spectacular!
This is something i may never be able to do... Thank you so much for this video, freaking amazing!!!
Thanks for watching!
That custom song starting at 10:35
You're doing things that I wish I could do. With my health I can only dream of doing what you are doing. Keep up the good work. Rock is.
Ram should be sponsoring you, I'm waiting till 2025 to get my 3500 and I will copy your wrap I love it!!!!
The music is always so fitting. Great video!
Take that smaller round log roll it under the tongue, and as it drops into the dirt from the hitch pivoting it will roll along with you and keep it from burying.
Glad you used the axe stuck in the log clip. Made me laugh… that’s real life there 👍
I was watching back the footage and it made me laugh so I had to keep it in there haha.
Awesome trip and truck ! You can tell Brad has been hanging around Marco .
Epic. Amazing. Makes me want to jump in my Gladiator and just go for it.
I’ve driven the Alaska Highway to Anchorage and it was fun yet hairy in a 26’ F-650 box truck. Moving a U.S. Air Force captain’s belongings to his new base. The trip was once in a lifetime. This looks even more incredible.
Thanks for sharing!
Outstanding TSTN adventure 2024...likely one of the most memorable and treasured!
Just wow man😊 thanks for all your hard work and sharing it
Thanks for watching!
You really need to hire me as 0:20 a full time Navigator, camp cook and winch dragger. I could be so useful on these trips. Nevermind I just remembered you drive in too many shelf roads.
❤Thanks For The Ride !!👍
10:23 word of advice, when your ax gets stuck in the log. Continue to push the handle down so as to bring the front of the ax blade back up. Not a 100% fix every time but it does tend to help.
I grew up in Dawson, its an amazing fun town!
Thank you for filming your extraordinary adventure!
21:38 Morris Machine Works pump tag, Baldwinsville, NY my hometown. Incredible to see that from so long ago and so far away. Safe travels!
Looking forward to it, Cheers
Awesome Dawson! Stoked for you two. Your turn! 👍😎🇨🇦
The whole scene of you and Brad gold mining is perfect with the music. It was hilarious! Thanks for the awesome video, keep em coming!
Pierogis!!! Love them things! What a cool adventure! I cant wait to see the next update!
Amazing videos from an og BC boy. Born in Williams puddle lived in Bella coola for 15 years
Amazing images and great soundtrack! I loved the guitar music with the lake views!
+ 1 on the Perogies! Great video Shawn, cant wait to see you and Brad make to the arctic Ocean.
They really are the best snack. Or meal. Any of the days meals really.
Good to see an Auusie Camper trailer on the trip.
Audio is really professional....loved the entire video....👍👍🙏
Neat video! I would have loved to see that scenery in it's full, natural color without the muted camera/video settings.
Absolutely awesome scenery!!! What an amazing adventure.....so glad you are sharing with us.
Your Traction Boards dragging we're a hint! They were saying lay me down so Brad Don't break his Trailer crank. Lol
That's awesome you guys get to explore the Yukon. I lived there for 15 years. Had alot of fun. Mostly hiking, backpacking snowshoeing and winter camping. Whitehorse is ok but not too special. Dawson same thing. You wouldn't want to live there lol. I loved it for the beauty of nature. Not the towns. Keep enjoying it😊
Awesome Shaun. It is on our bucketlist of trips to do. We are off to Australia again next weekend for more #offroad4x4. Cheers Ro ❤️
Honestly 2 of my favorites collaborating on this trek is fuckin fantastic
There are so many cool places with great stories that you guys passed by. I assume time constrained. I'm hoping that next summer my wife can take off the time to do Dawson City then over to Fairbanks and the Dalton Highway to Point Barrow. I want to introduce our viewers Whitehorse and to Jack London, Robert Service, and much more in Dawson City but also unusual places on the Cassier Hwy and of course Chicken, Alaska, Fairbanks, and much more. Great story guys! And I never hear either of you say "heh". 🙂
Man, that Ram looks impressive!
The last time we drove the Cassier it was winter over 20 years ago, we almost ran out of gas and barley made it into Dease lake on fumes! Amazing area I would like to re visit!
Loved the music 🎶 🎵 😂. Thanks for bringing me along on the journey 🤘 cheers from Quesnel BC
Haha thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
Lmao! The music in this episode is amazing. Well done Shaun. 😂
Nice!👍
Loving the new Ram build. I have a built 21 Gladiator setup for off-roading and overlanding that gets used daily but I also own a 21 Ram Diesel for towing. I have considered doing a Prospector XL style build with a larger, more comfortable camper for extended trips longer than two weeks.
Absolutely Stunning!
Awesome content Shaun!! I seen your new rig at swimming yesterday. Wicked looking truck in person. I’ve been to tuk 10 years ago on a rig boat and was up there for a couple weeks. Different life styles up there.
Can you tell me which lake / spot you are camped at at this point in the video ( 15:41)? We are driving to Tuktoyaktuk next week and this looks like a good spot to camp if it’s on our route. Thanks.
I’m watching your video from Arizona. Already over 110 in the shade. This sure helps me cool down. I watched EFRT video of their 2022 trip the other day man is that country beautiful. BTW I’m also a fan of Rock Solid Rig and A Long Long Way To Go. AJ’s last video from the Ozark’s was a good one. He mentioned you and said to let you know this place was for you to come check out. Watching you and TrailRecon on this adventure is awesome now get together with ALLWTG and RSR for an adventure in the Ozarks. Maybe Ozark Overland Adventure could make it too!
So freakin epic! This is on my list to do for sure
Can’t wait to see!
I like the condo setup better than the house.
The Yukon is absolutely beautiful! I would love to mske this trip!
Shaun. . .the quality and the way you frame scenes is frickin incredible!!!. . . excellent work as always dude!!! ..can't wait til the next one 😉
Thank you so much!
Cool camping car setup 👍👍
Was working alone highway 18 just south of Valemount cleaning up a semi crash and watched you drive by.
Well done again Shaun! Keep up the good work man!
You passed the golden triangle along Highway 37. There are three massive gold mines in that corner of the province!
Little trailer tip* i know its tight, but try coming in on a slight angle to offset and wont drag the hitch as much 🤘
Been waiting for this!!
Love the custom sound track! 😂😊😅
Unbelievable!!! I have to do this trip.
Was up there last year. It’s a great journey.
Brad needs his power wagon back. Great views !
I agree!
The propane canister, next to the campfire, at minute 24:00 leaves me scratching my head why?
You had me at adventure and ghost town ! I’ve heard about Cassiar very interesting history
Im getting a 4-wheel camper just for the front license plate option
''Plus grand que Nature'' is the french translation of ''Larger than life''
Awesome trip you got me on ! 😀
just like dogs often look like their owners, shaun and brad's rigs kinda look like them.
beautiful!!! Someday!😊❤
Your camper , how did it do on the arctic journey? What changes would you do if any. Do you have a video of the camper prep
All that abandoned mining equipment must be worth something in scrap metal. Guys Just being at Dawson City is an adventure.
I'm in the UK. Never seen Dawson.
Heyyyyy what about sponsoring a coffee company on your channel? Iron Bean Coffee is pretty great and they partner with a super cool ceramic mug maker. Bones coffee is amazing as well. You could prly google some cool coffee bean roaster near you too. You just cannot go wrong with these mom and pop coffee roasters. Organic is usually less acidic and better for your gut😊
Another banger, Shaun! Can’t wait for the next one!
Is there something or a stick hanging from the front passenger axle? 3:31
You should try a Dirt Box campers. They look quality to me.
Epic music selection!!!😂
What mountain was that before Dawson City?
Мaybe it's Mt Minto
Any issues with diesel regen and your diesel particulate filter percentage? I have a diesel F250 with FWC and am always monitoring that.
Amazing video, the quality is so good. When you drove across that bridge at the end of the video and on to that dirt road, do you actually see any traffic at all? or is it super remote? we have nothing like that here.
