That smudge @ 1:23:13 started RIGHT at the "13" seconds mark, you can tell the button for the smudge was pressed right as Insym walked towards the ghost, and you died the second it hit 1:23:15 ... That was a whopping 2 seconds, lol. Let's hope that bug gets fixed asap. (Which the devs are usually good in doing speedy hot-patches, so no worries there.)
I think the reason he died is because the T1 Smudge disorients the ghost, but I don't think you can run through it anymore after you smudge. I'm not sure if that's the case or it's just a bug as you said. Also, it's not global anymore, so you can't save your teammates if you're too far away
I absolutely love the dots pen thing because it's literally exactly the same as a laser pointer I have irl, same design, same everything. It has a little attachment that makes it have a sbig spread of dots just like in the game. It was rlly cheap lol

Funny tidbit nobody asked for but I’m sharing anyway is I’ve always be fascinated with ghosts/ghost hunting and quite a few years back thought I’d be fun to try and dabble so I purchased a SB-7 spirit box, emf reader, voice recorder, this thing that sends out certain energy that ghosts could use as a source of power to communicate (forgot the name) and started something I had no clue wtf I was doing lol. So during one instance the sb-7 I had asked a question and the response was literally a feral sounding growl and I had Evp that when played back sounded like it said unholy, I boxed everything gave it away, sage the shit out of myself, my home, got blessed and never messed with that shit again lol. It probably could be debunked but I still wasn’t taking anymore chances, and now I stick to phasmo & similar games only lol.
@@corri282you need to be in the ghost room (or just near the ghost, not sure), activate the ghostbox and then ask the ghost questions. if the game recognized your voice as a question it will blink one of the lights on the ghostbox, and if the ghost has ghostbox as evidence, there's a chance he will respond. this only works in the dark, so turn of the lights (i dont think flashlight or candles count) usually this needs to be done alone but some ghosts respond to multiple people better.
@@corri282the ghost icon when it turns red light means that it heard you but there’s no response! But if the light goes white it means that it responded to you :)
The sound sensors now playback sounds into the truck, by the way. I thought I was imagining things when I kept hearing items thrown while in the truck and then I read the shop description which confirmed... the sound sensor relays sounds to the truck.
hi, insym! happy update!! sorry for the long comment, but my very long distance boyfriend showed me phasmo back in June when i got my first gaming laptop, as a fun way we could "hang out" from across the country of each other. after the first time playing with no prior knowledge of the game, I was instantly obsessed and had to know EVERYTHING. Ever since that day , I have not listened to music or really watched any other types of videos, because during driving or housechores or work, I listen to your videos in the background constantly and have loved gaining an encyclopedic knowledge of the ghosts and strategies from your videos. I'm not a very skilled player but I love how much there is to know and learn, and I love your dedication to the science of the game :-) we play together after work as much as possible, and My boyfrend and I were so hyped about the update that we stayed up very late the night before release, trying to pass level 100, a humble but serious goal for two busy people who aren't serious gamers. We did it! we played the update together today with our snazzy new badges for Level 123, and your videos and this game have weirdly become a really important fixture of my daily life, so thanks for making your content and i hope you're having a blast!!!
48:02 , as a Celsius person, I was always told that Fahrenheit is similar to the percentage system in relativity to the average human body heat. So 100F is gonna be 100% (more or less) of the average persons own heat. So if it's 50F outside, that's gonna feel chilly cause that's well below what the human body is feeling normally. That's what I was told anyways, and being in an apartment where the thermostat was only in F, had to learn it kind of
Hey Sym and guys, I just wanna talk about somethings that I´ve found out weird or glitchie since this update (havent finished the video so I dont know if he mentions it sorry) 1.-Smudge sticks are working weirdly, already happened 3 times in like 20 games that I smudge, 3-4 seconds pass and the ghost still kills me while the smudge is burning 2.-I think there´s something wrong with the Onryo and the new light system, everytime I get onryo (3 times by now) also get early hunts WITHOUT using candles or something like that 3.-When you crouch with the tripod you start zig zaging, exactly like when someone grabbed the tarot cards before the update 4.-Spirit box tier 1 is... BAD like really bad maybe a little tweks would help 5.-Sometimes the audio from the ghost is inconsistent, very loud or very quiet (and no it does not depends on the ghost type) Hope CJ or Syn or other people see this and or comment is something similar happened. Anyways, love you videos and let´s enjoy this new and awesome update also sorry for bad english
I know I probably couldn't play Phasmo, but I love watching you play. I enjoy watching you play so many games, and have played many new games thanks to you. Also, I agree...Farenheight, mikes, gallons, inches, etc. doesn't make sense when it comes to mathematics. Here in the US we're the odd balls, we just make it harder for us, lol.

The incense glowing bug appears to occur when multiple of the same material/model is on screen. For example, if you hold an incense and look at another incense so both are being rendered, the glow occurs. If while still holding the first incense you look away from the second, it stops glowing.
One of my favorite changes so far is just a subtle one...the fact that the ghost blowing out a candle gives off EMF now. I never understood why that wasn't the thing from the start. I couldn't watch the whole stream so I don't know if insym notice this: if the ghost has dots then, after a ghost event, pointing the dots penlight where the ghost was will show couple more seconds of the ghost in dots form. I don't know if this is intentional or not.
About the measuring system: Being a British colony we used imperial units too, but now pretty much everyone except hardware shops use SI units - pipe, wood and paintbrush sizes are in inches here. But no bakery here will ever say an ounce of water or a pound of potatoes, it's all in litres and grams, even though baking was probably a British/Dutch introduced thing here. Gas/petrol stations too use liters, cars read in kilometers. Considering we were once a backward illiterate British colony too, yet 99.99% people here use SI units now. I just can't understand why USA is weird. Also, even though ALL of us are used to 12-24 hour clocks, I still find it difficult to deal with. I wish it was divided into 10-20 hours instead of 12-24. For example a mathematically calculated time of 10.5 hours is actually 10:30 hours and that's a simple calculation but imagine like 10.73 hours, now what the hell is that in hours and minutes? I can do it, but it's so inconvenient. (anti blue ball: 10:43 and 8 seconds).

After messing with it a bit I think I actually prefer the tier 1 thermo to the legacy thermo. It might be slow but it feels like it gives a better indicator as to whether the temp is trending up or down.

2:28:00 When you asked your chat if Phantoms, when they go into DOTS State, you take a photo of them they DO FLASH invisible, just like you'd expect, when you snap a photo of them whi;e they're in their DOTS state.
Not sure if you noticed yet Insym, but the "Thomas Wilson" screen in Tanglewood is just white now... 😢 But the new update is still AMAZING! I was using the spiritbox and got Psycho, then Insym back to back!
Idk if I was lucky but with full photos, I could still confirm the ghost photo objective with an excess photo. No need to fear taking too many door (or salt) pics!
most certainly not needed, id rather have them make new maps so it wouldnt be so boring to play the game rather than add tiers to items and reset all progress
that would be a good goryo ability. it would keep in line with them not showing dots in person but on camera before, assuming the new dots still needs camera to show them.
Your game with the Goryo has been how most of my two evidence games go. The ghost is very reluctant to give the 2nd evidence, most of the time just not giving anything.
For the freezes i found a fix, disable amd fsr and set the textures to medium. I dont know why this happens but when i disabled both my game started to run problem free, having to disable fsr is weird but at least i can play now without issues
I believe fahrenheit is based on the coldest temperature (at the time) being zero, 100 being a person's usual temperature, and 200 being the usual boiling point. It didn't work out perfectly though.... Celsius is way better.
It was based on the temperature that brine water stabilized at when attempting to freeze it. Important part was that it was a repeatable measurement. The scale did come from body temperature, but wasn't exactly accurate, meanwhile Celsius needed a lot more variables to be exactly right to make a measurement and even now it's not exactly accurate. Both of them were just doing the best of what they could at the time.
I'm loving the new update, great job devs! Question though, do dead body photos no longer count? I tried twice and neither counted. Also, I got at least 7 photos out of 1 camera, so not sure if that's a bug or supposed to be like that.
a friend of mine plays Hunt Showdown and he never prestiges! I always press prestige when I am on his pc and he gets really mad because he has to unlock everything again :D I showed him the part where you said "that's the fun part"

My stance on the temperature discussion around the 00:40:00 mark is that I def see how Celcius works for things like water since 0 is freezing and 100 is boiling, but I think Fahrenheit works better for things like weather bc it is also a little on a 0 to 100 scale. If you see the weather is closer to 0 you know it's cold to freezing. If it's closer to 100 you know it's hot outside. Versus Celcius which is a -17 to 37 scale. That's just my perspective as someone who grew up in America and has given a lot of thought on the subject.
the frame of reference for C is great, you know it's freezing, when you say it's freezing outside is when outside there might be ice and snow, which both of those are made out of water and that's the reason it's even called "freezing". cause human is not freezing at that temperature, he's just cold. it's very useful to know it can be icy outside. and it's very easy to imagine how cold it is, you know how ice feels, you know how boiling water feels, you have frame of reference. and at the end of the day the discussion is pointless, because everybody would prefer the measuring system they grew up with
To answer your question about the Measurements, the United States while colonist where originally gonna be metric system. But back then there was premade tools to help apply those measurements in colonies/ newly inhabited places and the ship that was carrying those tools to America was lost at sea and instead of waiting multiple more years new tools to be made and delivered for them the people in America just made their own measurements.

The evidence doesn't always show up. I checked every single room on Tanglewood and the lowest temperature was about 6C in the entry way. Turns out it was a Moroi with freezing temps. I never even saw cold breath. Can't wait for a hotfix.
From my understanding Cold Breath no longer guarantees low temperature as seen in other comments so you actually need to look extensively with the thermometer in order to find the cold spot with the minus temperature. To name another example of how the game has changed, it is like how some ghosts no longer leave footprints because they don't have fingerprints as evidence so they can step on salt but won't leave a footprint which is the way to know a Wraith in the new update because it is the only ghost that won't even step on salt whereas all the other ghost do step on it despite being capable or not of leaving a footprint.

Like I got the daily goal of hearing the spirit box but I never actually heard it. I haven't been able to get a single ghost all day.

I was playing Phasmo with my friend, and every game i would find music box, my friend didnt see it, i took a photo, for him it said 3 star music box photo, but there was nothing in picture, he found tarot cards, i didnt see them, the exact same thing happened to me, i didnt see tarot cards, he got a 3 star photo, but photo was empty for me. Every game i got music box, but his was normal, he got random cursed items. super super weirdddd. Also every game has the same hunt music, and the ghost was always female, the hunt sound was the one you got on the first game of the video. CJ!!
Fahrenheit is relative to how humans feel. While 0 degrees for freezing and 100 for boiling sound really nice, it makes the relative spectrum for how humans feel heat in the air... tricky. Like you would think between 0 and 100 that 50 would be comfortable but it's literally basically death. Meanwhile 100 in Fahrenheit is understandably hot and 32 is cold. 32 for freezing is what trips people up but on a spectrum of 0 to 100, 0 is very cold, 100 is very hot, 50 is right in the middle. It's better for air temperature and weather, but Celcius is better for chemistry.
Fahrenheit is based off the bodies optimal body temperature of 37.5. If people argue, then they argue, but I read this in a biology textbook and learned it through my biology professor. So if I’m wrong I’m wrong, but that’s how I learned it

it was basicly 2.25 seconds since it started 5 frames into 1:23:13, and lasted 20 frames after 1:23:15. Giving a total of 135 frames or 2.25 seconds.

This game got so much better to watch as well not just to play. Everything is so much more exciting.

levelling up is easy, and it goes so fast. if u play it few times a week you will get it in no time. you can get to level 118 really fast

So 100F is gonna be 100% (more or less) of the average persons own heat. So if it's 50F outside, that's gonna feel chilly cause that's well below what the human body is feeling normally.

Hey Sym and guys, I just wanna talk about somethings that I´ve found out weird or glitchie since this update (havent finished the video so I dont know if he mentions it sorry)
1.-Smudge sticks are working weirdly, already happened 3 times in like 20 games that I smudge, 3-4 seconds pass and the ghost still kills me while the smudge is burning
2.-I think there´s something wrong with the Onryo and the new light system, everytime I get onryo (3 times by now) also get early hunts WITHOUT using candles or something like that
3.-When you crouch with the tripod you start zig zaging, exactly like when someone grabbed the tarot cards before the update
4.-Spirit box tier 1 is... BAD like really bad maybe a little tweks would help
5.-Sometimes the audio from the ghost is inconsistent, very loud or very quiet (and no it does not depends on the ghost type)
Hope CJ or Syn or other people see this and or comment is something similar happened.

Also, I agree...Farenheight, mikes, gallons, inches, etc. doesn't make sense when it comes to mathematics. Here in the US we're the odd balls, we just make it harder for us, lol.

It was the first time i was on twitch during Insym stream. It was so cool. Thank you for your hard work,Insym.
The incense glowing bug appears to occur when multiple of the same material/model is on screen. For example, if you hold an incense and look at another incense so both are being rendered, the glow occurs. If while still holding the first incense you look away from the second, it stops glowing.
One of my favorite changes so far is just a subtle one...the fact that the ghost blowing out a candle gives off EMF now. I never understood why that wasn't the thing from the start.
I couldn't watch the whole stream so I don't know if insym notice this: if the ghost has dots then, after a ghost event, pointing the dots penlight where the ghost was will show couple more seconds of the ghost in dots form. I don't know if this is intentional or not.
About the measuring system: Being a British colony we used imperial units too, but now pretty much everyone except hardware shops use SI units - pipe, wood and paintbrush sizes are in inches here. But no bakery here will ever say an ounce of water or a pound of potatoes, it's all in litres and grams, even though baking was probably a British/Dutch introduced thing here. Gas/petrol stations too use liters, cars read in kilometers. Considering we were once a backward illiterate British colony too, yet 99.99% people here use SI units now. I just can't understand why USA is weird.
Also, even though ALL of us are used to 12-24 hour clocks, I still find it difficult to deal with. I wish it was divided into 10-20 hours instead of 12-24. For example a mathematically calculated time of 10.5 hours is actually 10:30 hours and that's a simple calculation but imagine like 10.73 hours, now what the hell is that in hours and minutes? I can do it, but it's so inconvenient. (anti blue ball: 10:43 and 8 seconds).

After messing with it a bit I think I actually prefer the tier 1 thermo to the legacy thermo. It might be slow but it feels like it gives a better indicator as to whether the temp is trending up or down.
would be amazing for the devs to add a rare jump scare ghost event, like the ghost charges towards you extremely fast and does a scream or something. i would probably end up crying in a corner. LMAO
2:28:00 When you asked your chat if Phantoms, when they go into DOTS State, you take a photo of them they DO FLASH invisible, just like you'd expect, when you snap a photo of them whi;e they're in their DOTS state.

Idk if I was lucky but with full photos, I could still confirm the ghost photo objective with an excess photo. No need to fear taking too many door (or salt) pics!
According to the shop menu, the tier 1 photo camera (the polaroid) is NOT electronic, so we should be able to use it without attracting a hunt.
idk where it said it but I read that the camera (whilst taking a photo) will emit some type of signal to the ghost where you are

Your game with the Goryo has been how most of my two evidence games go. The ghost is very reluctant to give the 2nd evidence, most of the time just not giving anything.

I have the same DOTS projector, is there any IRL use of that? I normally just take off that lens and use it like a normal laser.
I noticed that Ghost Orbs is now very rare/hard evidence to get.
For the freezes i found a fix, disable amd fsr and set the textures to medium. I dont know why this happens but when i disabled both my game started to run problem free, having to disable fsr is weird but at least i can play now without issues
I do think its good that they increased the payment rewards, its one less reason to fear been killed since its easier to replace losses.
The sound design is beyond incredible in this update
I believe fahrenheit is based on the coldest temperature (at the time) being zero, 100 being a person's usual temperature, and 200 being the usual boiling point. It didn't work out perfectly though.... Celsius is way better.
It was based on the temperature that brine water stabilized at when attempting to freeze it. Important part was that it was a repeatable measurement. The scale did come from body temperature, but wasn't exactly accurate, meanwhile Celsius needed a lot more variables to be exactly right to make a measurement and even now it's not exactly accurate. Both of them were just doing the best of what they could at the time.

I'm loving the new update, great job devs! Question though, do dead body photos no longer count? I tried twice and neither counted. Also, I got at least 7 photos out of 1 camera, so not sure if that's a bug or supposed to be like that.

a friend of mine plays Hunt Showdown and he never prestiges! I always press prestige when I am on his pc and he gets really mad because he has to unlock everything again :D I showed him the part where you said "that's the fun part"

It's obscured, but you can read the upper tiers of each item behind the darkness filter. The tier 3 sound sensor is amazing.
My stance on the temperature discussion around the 00:40:00 mark is that I def see how Celcius works for things like water since 0 is freezing and 100 is boiling, but I think Fahrenheit works better for things like weather bc it is also a little on a 0 to 100 scale. If you see the weather is closer to 0 you know it's cold to freezing. If it's closer to 100 you know it's hot outside. Versus Celcius which is a -17 to 37 scale. That's just my perspective as someone who grew up in America and has given a lot of thought on the subject.
the frame of reference for C is great, you know it's freezing, when you say it's freezing outside is when outside there might be ice and snow, which both of those are made out of water and that's the reason it's even called "freezing". cause human is not freezing at that temperature, he's just cold. it's very useful to know it can be icy outside. and it's very easy to imagine how cold it is, you know how ice feels, you know how boiling water feels, you have frame of reference. and at the end of the day the discussion is pointless, because everybody would prefer the measuring system they grew up with
To answer your question about the Measurements, the United States while colonist where originally gonna be metric system. But back then there was premade tools to help apply those measurements in colonies/ newly inhabited places and the ship that was carrying those tools to America was lost at sea and instead of waiting multiple more years new tools to be made and delivered for them the people in America just made their own measurements.

The evidence doesn't always show up. I checked every single room on Tanglewood and the lowest temperature was about 6C in the entry way. Turns out it was a Moroi with freezing temps. I never even saw cold breath. Can't wait for a hotfix.
From my understanding Cold Breath no longer guarantees low temperature as seen in other comments so you actually need to look extensively with the thermometer in order to find the cold spot with the minus temperature.
To name another example of how the game has changed, it is like how some ghosts no longer leave footprints because they don't have fingerprints as evidence so they can step on salt but won't leave a footprint which is the way to know a Wraith in the new update because it is the only ghost that won't even step on salt whereas all the other ghost do step on it despite being capable or not of leaving a footprint.

Like I got the daily goal of hearing the spirit box but I never actually heard it. I haven't been able to get a single ghost all day.

I was playing Phasmo with my friend, and every game i would find music box, my friend didnt see it, i took a photo, for him it said 3 star music box photo, but there was nothing in picture, he found tarot cards, i didnt see them, the exact same thing happened to me, i didnt see tarot cards, he got a 3 star photo, but photo was empty for me. Every game i got music box, but his was normal, he got random cursed items. super super weirdddd. Also every game has the same hunt music, and the ghost was always female, the hunt sound was the one you got on the first game of the video. CJ!!

Fahrenheit is relative to how humans feel. While 0 degrees for freezing and 100 for boiling sound really nice, it makes the relative spectrum for how humans feel heat in the air... tricky. Like you would think between 0 and 100 that 50 would be comfortable but it's literally basically death. Meanwhile 100 in Fahrenheit is understandably hot and 32 is cold. 32 for freezing is what trips people up but on a spectrum of 0 to 100, 0 is very cold, 100 is very hot, 50 is right in the middle. It's better for air temperature and weather, but Celcius is better for chemistry.
