  • You make a film, you get into a festival, you have the premiere… and then what? The Festival Agency, a consultancy company with offices in Paris and LA, specializes in festival strategies and creative distribution. In this session, CEO Leslie Vuchot discusses her work with international independent-film teams on how to market and distribute their films in a challenging landscape. Using her work on Meow Wolf: Origin Story (SXSW 2018), The Green Fog (Berlinale Forum 2017), Human (Venice 2015), and 20,000 Days on Earth (Sundance 2014) as case studies, Vuchot will provide tips on how to maximize a film's exposure based on new-release patterns and highlight the obvious hits and misses in an international and global festival strategy.

Leslie Vuchot graduated from La Sorbonne-Paris I in Entertainment Law, and started her career working for Focus Features International and HanWays Films for five years in London. Identifying a niche business in the non-theatrical distribution and a need to expose films internationally, she started her own venture, The Festival Agency, at end of 2009. Leslie and her team represent films from independent producers and prestigious sales agents and help build the best international strategy to maximize exposure. She is a moderator, industry guest and expert for several festivals every year including Cannes, Tribeca, SXSW, and has become Mentor for Festivals & International for the Sundance Institute, creative distribution program in March 2018.
