I love how cinematic these dodges are. Like jumping to dodge that skeletons halberd or looking up as the ice harpies gust wind breezes past your face as if it were the matrix. So badass Thank you for teaching me also how to not die in 20 secs lol
Thank you for the detailed analysis of new mobs. he has already helped defeat more than one harpy... visiting dungeons has become more enjoyable than it was before, thank you). Yeti and giants remained problematic)
as an enthusiast of little details here and there, you without a doubt have the most badass intro I've ever seen for a yt vid, hope yk. I've never been wowed by the intro to a video b4 XD
Bless up, glad to know hounds actually just suck and I'm not missing something haha. With harpys, they send out 2 projectiles that go out and back in, so as long as you're at a mid distance and stay in the middle, you shouldn't have to duck and look around. just stay in between them.
LOL ofc he shows the axe guys RIGHT AWAY. my first time going abyss, I got mobbed by a nightmare axe guy and 2 elite axe guys. shit was terrifying lmao
Some clarifications: Frost Skeleton Gaurdman When he says "attacking it" he means "attacking the gaurdsman's shield" Ice harpy There are two garenteed harpies gaurding the staircase up to the boss so be carefull Love the videos, they are great asset to the community
A few things I would add: Nightmare Imps damage on teleportation so not staying too close is a good idea, its not guaranteed you will be able to kill it in time if you are alone Nightmare Sentinels cast their Frost Novas three times in a row, however the Btfo attack when you get too close is pretty much the same except maybe a bit more damage, still easy to dispatch alone. No idea what the Ice Demon and Frozen Ghost nightmares do, havent encountered those yet.
For the ice harpy you dont need to look down or anything. Just go within like Spear range and put yourself directly parallel to her it will miss. The attack literally curves around you, so if you're in the right spot it will always miss
I was having trouble too but i finally figured out the problem i was having was i wasnt spaced back far enough from them, its hard cause sometimes they walk right into your face but its just about not being too close, i use bardiche on barb btw, probably need somthing with range like that or zwei
The room you use to show the ice hounds has 2 ladders on both sides if you agro them at the top but sit directly on top of the ladder they won’t hit and bows or longswords work best for that spot 👍🏼
Not a big fan of those triple lunge attack dog things with the wide swipes, doesn't feel like there's a good way to dodge those - which imo is always bad as it encourages more range-based cheese, and thus less ppl playing melee.
With the harpy you can just take a couple steps back and as long as you stay centered the wind attack will go super wide either side of you. I feel like ducking is unnecessary.
unironically the scariest looking enemy is the ax skeleton but even with the nightmare version is it the absolute most forgiving enemy in the abyss. It's ranger is almost negative. Even with slow classes you can just backpedal which is normally a bad idea vs most enemies.
You should totally make a Steam guide with links to your videos, I'm an experienced player so I've been watching and learning from your videos as you post them but I feel that new player would benefit greatly from a steam guide or maybe just some more playlists on youtube like a playlist for all the videos that focus on fighting AI etc
You can actually just sidestep right of the maceman and hit him in his back for a safer way to kill them. Since it’s really ez to hit his shield in the method shown.
The nightmare ice harpy’s don’t have a middle wind blade so you can actually just stay still and it won’t hit you, they honestly seem easier than the normal variant
The fact that these 3:00 mace skeles are so difficult to dodge, continue blocking on every swing, seem to be exclusively Elite or Nightmare, and are almost ALWAYS surrounded by at least 5 other mobs is the most troll shit I've seen the devs put out yet. I feel like they way overtuned mobs with the patch just before wipe. Even in norms, half the hell mobs you see are Nightmare grade, and they JUST launched F2P. Why would they make rooms with an almost unfair amount of difficulty and mob density and then expect F2P players in full greys to enjoy or engage with any of it? Loving every other part of this wipe so far. The new map is sick and all the new mobs are pretty awesome. Just really wish they would tune down the density at least. Opening a door and walking 2 feet into a room should not agro 6 skeletons, 2 harpies, 4 bats, 9 kobolds, 3 giants, a yeti and the Ghost King.
maybe im very shiit but icant do anything in ice abyss, i insta die, somehow end up with 2-3 or even 4-5 mobs after me or simply die by the first one, im pretty new but i thought i got somewhat of a hang of it in normal ice mountain, but cant do a jack shiit in ice abyss...
with enough gerkins ganked, you will be able to dodge any move. When on rogue I recommend buying a rapier to give you a little more space when learning the dodge sequences. Good luck out there!
@@ryan6daysaweek The frost skeleton axeman for example. It is more of a weapon specific issue than a class issue. For most of the backpedaling you need 1. enough movement speed and 2. a long range melee weapon. My barbarian is my main and their action speed is too slow to get attack in inbetween and most of the melee weapons are too short range as well. it's easy enough on my fighter, but the only option on barb seems to be cheesing on terrain because ironmace hates that class
@@christianlandgrave5796 hey christian, I have just finished going through the barb weapons on base kit and it has worked for all of them on the nightmare mobs (though the timing is quite tight on the bardiche and double axe without any Dex). If you want I can take a look at clip of yours in the Ice Abyss and help break it down. Other than that keep on practicing and you will be able to dodge all of them with any weapon on Barb. To start I do recommend bringing along a 1-hand weapon or felling axe as they have less wind up animation times.
@@ryan6daysaweek thank you, i did figure out some weapons that worked fine for it. The shorter and slower weapons can work if you have high movement speed, but with any armor you will get hit. So either speed barb or longer ranger weapons are the answer
Info about Frost Demon is purely garbage, no specific dodge recommendation just some basic cheeses that are very situation depended. What if there is no safe pillar and no elavation ? What i really like about your videos are you actually show how to dodge these. Sorry i cant kill that shit with a melee class and i'm butthurt. I need to know how to dodge it, i literally give up if i agro one so frustrating.
There is no reliable method to dodge these monsters in a flat open area (similar to the first iteration of some of the advanced skeletons from Pt5). If you have enough move speed you will be able to strafe closely to the left of the Frost Demon but that is a gear/class limited requirement. Right now the best method is to either move them to a pillar or use elevation. Every location that the Frost Demon spawns in will have at least one of these environment features. Sorry for your frustration but that is the best info I have until this particular mob is updated. Best of luck out there, adventurer.
Lazy content. You need to play in trios as this game is built around that game mode. Solo gameplay will get removed so this is my advice if you actually want to grow your channel.

Thanks king I was struggling in Ice Abyss, but now I'm ready
Woke up, saw you uploaded, first thing i did with my coffee.
Love the content dude, you put it together so cleanly it's impressive.
He really is great indeed
babe wake up, ryan dropped a new video.
For the ice harpy's laugh you can also stand straight up as long as you are a couple feet back and in the center of the cone she attacks in
Thank you for this video, i'm starting to dip my toes into the lower levels "HELL" of each map so this helps alot
I love how cinematic these dodges are. Like jumping to dodge that skeletons halberd or looking up as the ice harpies gust wind breezes past your face as if it were the matrix. So badass

new to the game, been going thru all of ryan’s videos like a teenager who found his crush’s insta
As you should frfr
Awesome vid! For those who fear the new map, it’s easier than you think! And now with Ryan’s video explaining each mob, it’s even more do-able!

came to find out how to find the ice hounds, learned that no one really knows xD
Amazing video Ryan as always! You, NotLikeThis, and I got all the bases covered for the new players! Holding the line 😁
Personally I found the best way to dodge all of them is by picking a different map.

I was just about to launch the game to try the new maps and I get this video in my recommended

Those macemen skeletons are tough.
Ice hound, my conclusion from this video, just run unless you want to die
At least you can just spam Treant if you're a Druid 😂

Good video, however I wish you touched on the nightmare harpie, the double melee attack is pretty insane when you have multiple mobs on you
It’s crazy how easy fighting stuff got once I realize most stuff can just be kited or stepped. And of course just knowing their small move set
Another stellar guide from the lord

didn't even show the harpy dodge :C
