- Recorded 19 November 2024. Bernard Chazelle of Princeton University presents "New Tools for Analyzing Collective Behavior" at IPAM's Modeling Multi-Scale Collective Intelligences Workshop.
Abstract: How can local interactions among agents produce coherent group action on a higher temporal and spatial scale? Part of the difficulty in addressing this vast question is the dynamic, out-of-equilibrium nature of the underlying systems. In this talk, I will review new analytical tools developed for that purpose. I'll also discuss applications from the fields of opinion dynamics, swarming, motion coordination, and iterated learning.
