It's not just there. Lot of tracks have empty seats now and days. Best way to judge the economy is look at Nascar attendance..lol..
The tickets were the most expensive they've ever been. Plus, the hotels in the area raised their prices 200-300% for that weekend. NASCAR needs to put their foot down and force tracks like these to stop raising the prices, and the counties need to do the same to the hotels. Bad attendance leads to bad ratings.
"The economy" is not the problem. The economy is fine. It has been for a decade now. The stands are empty because NASCAR can't stop shooting themselves in the foot. They got fat off the early-mid 2000s then when the new fans moved on to the next thing, instead of recognizing a lost cause and returning to its roots, they resorted to progressively more pathetic gimmicks in an effort to bring them back, putting off the hardcore fans. The invention of and subsequent changes to the Chase... err... "Playoffs," the dozen different aero packages, the cluster***k of multi car qualifying, etc.
After Ty Dillon's stage win, i'd like to see how he would do in the 3 car compared to Austin. He did a good job wheeling that 13 car to that stage win

FOX Sports, just a suggestion for future similar posts...Give an extra half to one second between each transmission. It is near impossible to see what car number, then what person (spotter, crew chief, driver) is talking, let alone read the box and watch the video. It requires the viewer to back-up or watch the video two or three times. Frustrating.

I like Austin Dillion and I’m one of the few that sees potential in him but I will say if he wasn’t racing for his grandfather he’d be looking for a ride just on his attitude alone. Just ask Kurt Busch about that
to be fair when kurt had to drive that bucket 51 car for james finch he still started stringing top 10s and 15s together. guy can overdrive meh equipment. just look at the 1 car last year to now. Similar difference between Harvick and Dillon.

honestly the pit road flagger did a bad job letting them off pit road before all the lead lap cars went by. Also not giving clear directions on where to be is kinda dumb, aka 2 car behind the 6- should be tell the 2 to be behind the 6 4th row out side. Not hard to use 6 more words. But repeating 2 behind 6 9 times dose a great job too LOL

That was NASCAR's screw up, plain and simple. They wonder why no one turned up to Bristol, I think stupid calls like that may have a part. That was a mess, Dillon wanted to be a brick wall. In my mind, the car on the inside (in this case) that doesn't give and inch for a car to take it's place needs to be warned. If they still don't move, hold them for a lap. It'll stop what we saw this week really fast.
