In case you guys don't know, Dave Hum's (1966-2012) family has 40 of Dave's backing tracks now available for purchase on Dave's website. I just bought all four albums, and they are his actual backing tracks. GOOD STUFF! These tracks are high quality and worth every penny! I've spent hundreds of hours trying to recreate Dave's backing tracks, but mine sound terrible compared to his. So to me Dave's backing tracts are worth more than gold. I'm so glad that his family has made these available. The money for purchase goes to help support Dave's family. By the way, album #1 has the backing track for this song, "Cold Frosty Morning." Just search online for "Dave Hum backing tracks" and Dave's sight comes up second down from my Banjo Heaven blog. Thank God for Dave Hum! Music makes the world a better place!
Fifteen degrees under zero here in South-Germany today a cold frosty morning, but with that very nice song, played by a banjo, brings all the warmth back to the world.
I had the sheer pleasure of being in a band for two years with Dave some years ago. He was a wonderfully talented, humourous, kind human being. The world has lost somebody truly special.
Sadly, our friend Dave died last month, but his family is keeping his website active and his CDs are still available. Dave is well-respected by banjo players around the world. A big loss for us.
This guy is up there with the true great musicians, Barney McKenna, Finbarr Dwyer, Peak Fiddler etc. His flowing style and economy of movement is brilliant to watch. So sorry I have only found your mastery of the Banjo in the last month. RIP Dave, you continue to bring joy and amazement to me and many others.
I picked up banjo not long ago and was referred to Dave's videos for motivation to keep playing. after a few of his videos, I've kept at the banjo instead of dropping it like most other impulse hobbies. this man is truly inspirational. rip
Glenn Feldt: Yeah, I've only just recently discovered him as well. Such a shame he's no longer around, I wanted to move to Bournemouth and dance to him playing! My favorite so far is 'Southern Flavour'. I also love the Irish influence in his collection.
Oh - what a shame. I hadn't heard. Just left a post on another video hoping to see Dave soon as I hadn;t seen him for a while in town. Very sad news. My condolences to family and friends. Brad
I really cannot watch enough of Dave and the Huckleberries. Truly inspirational talent! Keeps me playing my banjo and aspiring to be just half as good as Dave was! Thankyou for the fine tunes. Kev. Lincoln.
It'll be a great day when teachers, musicians, artists and policemen are paid enough money, veterans get the benefits they deserve and potliticians have to have a bake sale in order to raise money for their campaign (with term limits in every office, even kings and queens).
I feel sorry for all the people who haven't found this little gem yet. It's brilliant.

OMG !!!! WOW !!!
Good banjo players should be paid more than politicians.
Hear hear!!
Politicians shouldn't be allowed to stay on the planet. Send em all to Jupiter.
