Many fans call it one of, if not THE best song in the series.

It's the song that got me into music as a whole.
The actual reason Weiss was angry at the guy who flirted with her is because he was completely ignorant about the fact that the event he visited was to raise charity to support Vale, which suffered greatly and where she lost many friends.
It's like, imagine a charity to support a school that just suffered a school shooting, but some guy just comes to enjoy the stuff there and literally had no idea there was a school shooting.
That and you know when you have a breaking point everything just piles up and every thing would be enough to get you pissed off
That was basically what she had with everything building up
Not to mention that he asks _"lol what is this fundraiser even for"_ while a sign explaining *exactly that* is like three feet in front of him.

Suraj is correct, the singing voice for Weiss is done by Casey Lee Williams (who sings all the other female parts for a majority of RWBY’s soundtracks). However, Kara Eberle is Weiss’ speaking voice.

I feel like a lot of people underestimate how Weiss feels in the party scene. The last time she saw Beacon tower was literally as it fell, she and ruby were there together when the grimm hit it. It must be incredibly hard having to look at that painting and all the while some fuck boi is chasing her tail and the guests are being assholes. I would've struggled to keep it together too.
Yeah, imagine going to a far off place in another country where you grow to really like it there, meet friends, develop yourself and in her case, actually being able to be more than a child under a parent that wants to control your life, with barely anybody to truly care what you want.
Then war happens to the place, you participate to help defend it, you lose, things are in ruin, the things you loved are split apart and you go back home, only to be met with people who don't seem to care, undermining your own experience in their own ignorance and self-indulging lives from afar.
Even if you may not be vocal in the same situation, you could definitely relate to her feelings in that moment when every person in there seem so insignificant yet they make themselves out to be the be-end and be-all compared to coming from a place that was and is a warzone.

Salem (Cortana from Halo), Tyrian (Armin from AoT and Tokoyami from MHA), Watts (Vegeta and All Might from MHA), Qrow (Edward Elric from FMA: B and Obito Uchiha from Naruto Shippuden), Ghira (Father from FMA:B), Kali (Temari from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden), Jacques (Beerus from DBS), Oscar (Tamaki aka Suneater from MHA), Winter (Ymir from AoT)
Don't forget J. Michael Tatum as Klein. And then you have Cherami Leigh coming in later this volume and Monica Rial next volume.

Henry pissed off Weiss because he didn’t care to the point he didn’t even know what the event was for. His flirting wasn’t awful, but he betrayed the fact he didn’t care about something she lived through (the attack on Vale and fall of Beacon Academy). That Trophy Wife outright saying they deserved it was the last straw.
Tyrian (whose name isn’t spelled like TyriON from Game of Thrones), is based off the scorpion from the Frog and the Scorpion. His name means “purple”.
The voice actor for Tyrian, Josh Grelle, has been amazing in bringing the character to life. He talks about having so much fun in the booth getting to let go with Tyrian. Tyrian quickly became one of my favorite characters, and even though he does awful things in the future, he's still my favorite villain in the show, and I can't help but love and hate him
Tyrian's semblance is to be able to disrupt aura cloaks by the way. He can breaks aura cloaks on the points he touches to then be able to perform a direct attack on the person and not their aura. That was the special effects you've been when he hit Ruby. And yes, he's a scorpion faunus.

Gotta say, the reactions are getting much better this volume and there is much less misinterpreting what's going on. Also, Mikey's awesome, remembering about Jaune's grandpa when it was only mentioned once or twice all the way back in volume 1.

Love how even when Qrow is booking it to get to Ruby in time he still has to block the attack in a cool pose without looking. Like is that really necessary Qrow? But we all know his response would be something like "What? I looked cool." I just find it hilarious to imagine him panicking right up until the exact second he blocks the attack, and then he just calmly says "Hey," like there's nothing going on at all.

What is the deal with the shopkeep?
Tyrian is voiced by Josh Grelle, who also voices Tokoyami in MHA and Armin in AOT.
And Tyrian has a braid and a tail. They're not the same.
By Volume 4 they get a lot of anime voice actors so Tyrian is actually voiced by the same guy who voices Armin in the AOT English Dub
i just noticed that one dude screaming "i asked for a double son" is a DBZ:A refrence to raditz, its even the original voice actor for raditz in the abriged Lani

Daramin is cool and all, but yeah, his stupid jokes, just like with Pat's stupidity and evil comments and thoughts, are the two main things that keep Normies from being a perfect react group.
Adding to the chorus; Weiss was only upset in particular because he didn't even know what the fundraiser was for, or possibly even that the attack on Vale had even happened. It was such a profound thing of disinterest and living in a bubble that she got angry, having fought in the battle herself. I mean shit, her friends died there.
Ruby lost her Aura, which is basically an energy shield. Everyone has an energy shield by default, that's why stuff that would normally break bones or outright kill people do not effect them. But these energy shields have a limit and the more damage they take the more depleted it becomes. When the shield goes out, they are like regular humans, meaning now they can get crushed, sliced and die. That's what those shimmers are about, it is showing us that their auras are ending/about to go out. That's what the entire tournament was about, they were hitting each other until their auras went below a certain level.

Tyrian's episode. Love his theme. Ruby could tell Penny had a soul because of her aura, and Yang knows when to fire directly at foes or use her weapon recoil to hit them. I think you can sense aura from others once you've unlocked your own. My theory is that Tyrian can tell Jaune hasn't unlocked his semblance, yet. A surprising number of viewers forget Nora's semblance! Tyrian's semblance disrupts aura - that's why Ruby's was 'flashing' when she was struck - but that last kick is what broke it.
So that's why Tyrian sits like that, he seriously can't sit normally or else he gives himself an enema. One other thing I noticed: Jacques couldn't even be bothered to clap after Weiss's performance because he didn't like the song that Weiss was singing. Listen to the lyrics, she's singing about living her own life etc.

Weiss is, after all, a traumatized combat veteran and survivor of the Fall of Beacon, but these Atlesian twits honestly couldn't care less about details like that. They're here to socialize and show off their fanciest clothes. Henry Marigold was completely clueless and it was the last straw for Weiss. The extreme emotion helped Weiss do her first summon but yes, she was not able to control it, and General Ironwood stepped in to prevent disaster. The General, as a combat veteran himself, is the only one in that room who understands the kind of PTSD and difficulty re-integrating back into civilian life that Weiss is experiencing right now....he has empathy for her plight and defends her statements. He's experienced that kind of trauma himself and doubtless seen it countless times among his officers and soldiers.
Jacques Schnee had Weiss participate in this event because he viewed it as a good PR move for the Schnee Dust Company (SDC), though his own casual conversation at the party shows his "concern for the people of Vale" is paper-thin. These Atlesians don't even care about the neighboring city of Mantle ("what is this, another fundraiser for Mantle?") literally beneath them, much less another Kingdom far away.
I just realized a small detail that appears again in volume 8: Henry MARYGOLD
I just have to say, in regards to actors of characters, the credits show every episode the cast in said episode. It shows their names. So Chris’s and others would be very simple to find out.
Weiss was upset because even though it was a charity, attendees not only didn't care, they were bashing those beneath them, the suffering, and the cause instead of helping.
Rooster Teeth is in Austin, TX.....a lot of anime voice actors are from the DFW Area & Houston, home of FUNimation & Sentai Filmworks respectively....they were smart to draw from this local talent pool.

Fact 1: The music used during Team RNJR's stay in Oniyuri is called "The Gang is All Like... OMG, it's Oniyuri". Composer Alex Abraham had released the track on his Soundcloud.
Fact 2: Two co-founders of Team Four Star, a group that abridges anime, are voice actors in the episode. The Angry Businessman is voiced by Nick Landis, also known as Lanipator, and the Businessman is voiced by Scott Frerichs, also known as KaiserNeko.
Casey Lee Williams is Weiss's singing voice. She is in the credits for Weiss in this episode and volume for that.

Honestly I think Tyrion just has a thing for little blond boys. His "interest" in Jaune is creepy.
I think there are deeper back-story / plot reasons for Tyrian's line....but to say more would be [SPOILERS] so I'll keep my speculation to myself for now.
Yeah Henry wasn't that bad in his interaction with Weiss but he was just proving to her that all these Atlas people including himself are oblivious and clearly don't care about what happened to Beacon and Vale, just themselves. What got Weiss mad was when he was basically saying "What the hell are we here for now? Raising money for another random ass charity, am I right?". Beacon was her school, it hit a nerve for her.
Yeah, Henry didn't even realize it was a charity thing, he just thought it was another party, and those rich people were flipping about their drinks and that Beacon deserved it, their heads were so up their asses.
I feel like Henry should be givin a second chance.
@ThePreator 11 Yeah, crazy how every single interaction RWBY had with him before Volume 7 Episode 1 was positive (barring disqualifying Yang from the tournament -- and even then, he was relatively compassionate about it, never even suggesting that Yang was lying), and yet the first thing they do upon arrival in Atlas was lie to his face. Which, I think it's important to note, was the very thing that they were so angry at Ozpin about.
Keep in mind, the answer was LITERALLY RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM in the form of the sign in front of them both. That level of callousness and not paying attention on top of everything else would grate on pretty much anyone's nerves, it certainly knocked my opinion of him down a few steps when the camera panned back to reveal it.
@@connorduquette1432 As a team... that depends on how you regard the behaviour of Atlas as a nation and how the team's been attacked by all the Atlas military hardware that kept going missing, getting hacked, or put in the hands of incompetents that Ironwood theoretically should have been in charge of (arguably, he double dipped on the responsibility as both General and Headmaster). Personally I wouldn't mark that down as too big a flaw but it certainly created room for doubt. Ruby on the other hand did have a second reason to distrust him. Remember all the secondary hints Penny was giving her? Things like "that's not what General Ironwood says" or "they're just here to protect me" and so on.

Regarding the debate on if RWBY is an Anime, I feel like it is in a section I'd call "Western Anime", along with shows like Avatar: The Air Bender. They're shows that are heavily inspired by Anime, but are made outside of Japan and/or add more Western styles/themes into the show.
While we’re talking about star power:
Blake’s dad Ghira has the same VA as Father from FMAB and Winter has the same VA as Ymir from Attack on Titan.
Tyrian is Armin Arlet, Fennec is Jean Kirkstein, Watts is All Might, Qrow is Edward Elric (for now), Oscar is Alphonse Elric, and that’s just who’s there right now.

The way y’all think Tyrian’s semblance is speed is really funny lol. He’s actually just that fast. His actual semblance is much more terrifying. Also that squiggling when he kicks Ruby across the town (you see similar animations with a lot of finishing blows) is her aura being diminished. She’s now vulnerable to fatal blows

Although I don't think there has been any clear indication of why Tyrian said Jaune interested him, this time hearing it gave me another idea. Tyrian's semblance is seen when he attacks Ruby. You can see her aura flicker, but it doesn't break. Tyrian can manipulate aura to allow him to attack through it. Although I will avoid mentioning Jaune's semblance at this time, we know he "has a lot of it". Maybe Tyrian couldn't break though his aura because it was too strong? This line still makes me wonder....
My theory behind tyrian being interested in jaune is because he could sense his aura like pyra did when she first helped him unlock it

I think when Tyrian said he was interested in Jaune, he was basically swiping right on Jaune...
People make this assumption alot but I think Tryian is basically seeing the potential of Jaune much like Oz and Prryha cause Tryian has basically shown throughout the series he's alot more smarter than most of the other characters heroes and villains he's the only one who knows the real plan

@ThePreator 11 It’s not likely to elaborated on until whenever Jaune and Tyrian next meet, but with where we left off with both of them after Volume 8, I don’t believe we have a chance for that encounter for another volume or two.
Now I could be off on what Tyrian's semblance is called but it is an Aura break...his eyes go purple/pink and he can weaken aura at a crazy rate (can also poison like a scorpion but I don't know if that is tied to his eyes or just a faunus thing) Tyrian is a cool character and my favorite villain at this bit in the show
Its actually called Aura Disruption accoring to the wiki; Tyrian's eyes and his arms glow purple, and if he touches someone's Aura, it fades away from the area he touched, leaving the victim vulnerable to attacks. Because Aura is the shielding of a person's body, his temporary removal of spots allows him to attack full-force, just as if they were without Aura in that spot.
Tyrian's eyes turn purple both when he activates his Semblance and when he is about to use his tail venom.
They haven't gotten there yet

You have to understand how Traumatic the Fall of Beacon was for Weiss in particular. Not only did she lose the school she came to love, but she Lost her team and many of her friends Died in that battle. And on top of all that, she also lost the precious, hard fought freedom she had there from her Father's control. And now she is right back where she NEVER wanted to be, right under his thumb. And to top ALL of that, here are these clueless idiotic class of people using her painful experience as a PR and Social climbing opportunity. Weiss was BARELY keeping it together to begin with, she was going to snap at any moment regardless of the trigger.

To make Weiss perspective a bit clearer, she's having a bad day, she hates Atlas and the people there, she misses Beacon that was her home and her family was team RWBY, not the best mood to hear people be so indifferent about it, she wants to be alone and have some peace remembering that. The guy wasn't a bad person just a tad ignorant and at a bad timing.
So the character Tyrian is based on comes from the fable "The Scorpion and the Frog" (sometimes known as "The Scorpion and the Turtle").
In that tale, a scorpion wishes to cross a river and asks a nearby frog to carry him across. The frog is initially hesitant and afraid of being stung but the scorpion explained that if he did sting him, he would drown afterwards.
Convinced, the frog agrees to carry him but midway across the river, the scorpion stings him anyway.
The dying frog asks why he would do such a thing knowing the consequences and the scorpion simply replied "can't help it, it's in my nature".
Needless to say, Tyrian is the scorpion.
Henry was actually nicknamed "Shitty Mercury" by production staff because he looks like him, but at least Mercury could actually make Weiss smile. Also Marketta calling out Tyrian "He looks like a scorpion" before the reveal is amazing, good job Marketta lol

Ironwood's burn of "she's the only one making sense here" is what made him my favorite. it's a sentiment i carry to this day. He's actually seeing the big picture beyond the current battle.

Ironwood certainly has his moments and if you’re watching the show week by week it’s easier to focus on those moments without clearly seeing the larger arc that Ironwood has been on. It was also deceptively clever of CRWBY to have Jacques be the only visible dissenting voice to Ironwood’s actions in this volume, people are more inclined to side against him. But if you look at the substance of the things Jacques says against Ironwood, his arguments and comments are actually pretty fair.

Japan considers RWBY an Anime, not a Western Cartoon/Web Series. Before Japan made that announcement, RT wasn't invited to any Anime Conventions to have panels on the show.

I love them but I can’t help but smile when a show is in the process of important exposition, character development, plot point and half of them are talking about some random benign thing. It’s funny after a certain point thinking they somehow consistently time it out. It’s beautiful I feel like chrollo conducting the symphony of death for Uvogin. It’s chaos, infuriating, and just so them. I love it

Why are your subtitles so far ahead of the dialogue?
The subtitles are from the website itself. From the intro that showed the desktop they seem to be watching on the actual rooster teeth website, and often those subtitles can get out of sync and a little messed up.

Uhoh, I think Marketa is in trouble with the RWBY fans. But it is a question I like to pose to the hardcore Japanese anime crowd. Is RWBY an anime or not? And I like to take it further with those anime purists. Can a Japanese-American create an anime? I realize that Monty identified as mostly Chinese/Korean but I'm sure if he did a hereditary test I bet Japanese would be a significant portion as well. But mostly it's just a hypothetical question. Would it be considered anime to the purists if the creator is Japanese (blank)? Or are they serious about it? It's gotta be made in Japan with Japanese artists and voice actors.
I think it all boils down to how you define anime. If anime is only Japan produced, then no. If anime is a style (animation, story telling and tropes) then yes, ATLAB and RWBY are animes.

@@nicolasawad4193 I understand, but I think in the western point of view, Anime is a Particular style of animation and story telling that is unique from other animations. And if you look at it that way, RWBY is anime-inspired if not an outright anime.
Fun fact: ATLA was animated in Korea, which makes it more of an anime than RWBY is. And yet the popular perception is the opposite.

THANK YOU!!! The only one with BAD choreography is v5 aside from the R vs C fight. Also, 5’s pacing was off, the slow pacing was done better in this volume.
I believe that this fight was done by the guy who did the Amber vs Cinder fight. He worked really close with Monty so this fight looked great! He also does the gunchucks.
V4 were never bad as people claim now v5 well that's the black sheep of the fights
