the fact I haven’t heard of most of these books makes me weirdly happy, reminds me that there is an unlimited supply of good books to read edit- hi! I have a international book review series planned soon if you guys are interested
The spine of you copy of My Dark Vanessa looks like a book I have called 3 Bags Full which I love but it’s very niche and my jaw dropped but I misread 😢
I've read both Beach Read and People We Meet On Vacation and I've loved both, although Beach Read is my favorite. Is Book Lovers bad? I've been looking forward to it :(
I’m dying for more people to read Severance. Ling Ma paints such an accurate and humanistic portrayal of how a pandemic unfolds that it felt somewhat cathartic to read it during this “post” pandemic time.
In like April 2020 I felt the ending was underwhelming and your comment made me realize that it hits different at this stage of the pandemic. (keeping it vague so as not to spoil anyone lol)
I also loved Severance. I just bought Ling Ma's new book, Bliss Montage. My other favorites from this trolley are Wise Blood and Their Eyes We're Watching God.
I would love this! Especially with a focus on fantasy that isn't western centric. Build you house around your body and the cat who saved books and black water sister to name a few
I would love to see a video about Korean literature since I'm seeing Violets, Concerning My Daughter, The Disaster Tourist and The Age of Doubt in the book stacks 👀👀👀
Love Hypothesis: REALLY not worth all the hype. It started as a fanfiction, I know. Because you noticed. Very much. And for some disturbing reason, I had Snape and Hermoine in my head the whole time reading it. Like, seriously. It fits. If we were villains: INSANELY good😍 Camilla: I love this type of literature, so I really enjoyed reading this book.
I really appreciate you reading out all the book titles at the end, for future reference purposes. I hope you finish all the ones you’ve started and enjoy the process along the way. This is the niche book content I love.
LOVED “Their Eyes where Watching God”. We read it in my AP lit class as the second half of the story takes place near my hometown (like some 20 minutes away), and my town was mentioned by name like once. Goes into some of the history in this area that pretty much everyone surrounding the Lake is familiar with.
Beach read is my favorite Emily Henry!! I liked it a lot more than people we meet on vacation and book lovers. Generally I just loved the characters, dialogue and plot a lot more than the other two. Don't let book lovers scare you away from the best stuff!!
Just read Carmilla and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a really nice atmospheric book. It's an easy read and once the story starts resolving it isn't really an "Oh? OH!" moment but still very enjoyable!
Reading Gods must be really pleased with us. All these back to back videos from Jack are doing wonders for my depression. Haven't felt this good in months.
I know right! I believe it was supposed to be in his translated fiction video. I am so curious what he will think about it! I thought it was so horribly good. I read it in dutch as well but i have heard that the translation is supposed to be very good!
Brick lane deserves so much more love. It's such a beautiful book, with a perspective I don't feel like is seen in many books. The voice of the ones usually silenced.
You should take a look at "As Long As the Lemon Trees Grow" by Zoulfa Katouh! It's a book set in syria written by a syrian-canadian author, and the US edition came out yesterday (UK edition releases tomorrow). I had the pleasure of reading an early version of the book and it is absolutely breathtaking, and I think it would be right up your alley
Video ideas: write a chapter after a finished book (book has 10 chapters and you write chapter 11, or just 2 pages);;; read only the first and last chapter of a book
Yolk's a great book. It was one of my favorites of 2021, hope you get soon to the second shelf so you can read it. I believe it could be a very good video review, there's so much to analyze on it.
What a nice way to sort your TBR, I do mine by months and I just put the left-over books to the side because I know I won't get to them till next year.
Their eyes were watching God was a book we had to read in English class in high school. One of my favorites till this day. Even the movie (starring Halle berry) was really good. I hope you enjoy it!
Heres and idea, load the from The bottom first? So that the weight is low and it doesnt topple over? Although u buy and get sent so many books that I reckon ull fill the trolley in no time
*me sitting down with a plate of food ready to watch some YT but not knowing what and then I see this video* okayyy Jack let's go, what books have we got on the menu today
When you get around to Violets I recommend you read the afterword first - provides a lot of context for the novel and I immediately felt like I needed to read it again with a clearer understanding of the intention!
your pain is universal, i decided to mood read for the time being and its working out for me, i had to take a break from trolleys, tr and plans lol. Been enjoying your vids, keep up the good work.
The thing is when I do something like this, I get a new book which I want to read even more and bump it up to the top and so some books just go further and further down. I am a good bit older than you so have had some books on the bottom shelf forever!
i had trouble getting into book lovers at first (it's also my first emily henry read!) but once i made it through the first half i started to really enjoy it!
Detransition, Baby is so good. Its fast become one of my all-time favourites. I hesitate to recommend it coz i feel like you gotta know what you’re getting into but it is a really good book and i love it (Got excited coz I’ve actually read that one lol)
I am all about having a cart for books you want to get to. I mean I want a cart like that. However to separate them by when you want to read them is good for you; but I can not separate them like that. They would make the cart and that’s about it. Lol. If it’s on my cart, it’s a book I want to read. Hope it works for you!!
İ haven’t read “Book Lovers” yet, but İ can tell you that “Beach Read” was actually really good! And İ don’t really like romances😅 İ am currently reading “You and me on vacation” by Emily Henry and this one is not really keeping up with Beach Read to me 🫠
Finally someone who isn't enjoying Book Lovers either! I actually dnf'd at page 190, so it would be really funny to me if you also decided to give up at the same place in the book :D
you should try sea of tranquility, amazing writing style, reads kind of like a short story collection. I know you could classify it as sci-fi buuut it’s a bit like the hitchhikers guide kind of sci-fi. Also you don’t really feel that some parts are set 200 years in the future where a author is describing her time in (yet another) lockdown. It has so many layers, foreshadowing and wholesome characters as well as unlikeable ones. I would say it’s contemp fic but takes places in the cours of 500 years (20th to 25th century) :)
If We Were Villains was hands down one of the best books I’ve ever read. Sort of a similar vibe to The Secret History but a lot less dry and much more interesting (imo)
@@erenkasa7882 as a native English speaker I’m probably not the best authority on this, but I would say it’s not difficult? Compared to the Secret History which is massively confusing at times even for me, I would say If We Were Villains is very easy to read

If you haven't started it yet, I'd love to see a reading vlog of Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. It is a real emotional rollercoaster and probably the best book I've read this year! 🎮📚☺️
I‘ve had We Have Always Lived in the Castle on my tbr ever since they announced Sebastian Stan for the movie but then I ended up watching the movie first and now the book is just sitting there 💀 I swear I’ll get to it at some point
just an encouragement to read it because i've seen the movie and read the book and it's like, not a very good adaptation, even though it's fine by itself. the book is great and so vividly written !!
Can we all agree that a wonky trolley is so much more suited to jack
it's perfectly imperfect
as jack is
At this point I spend more time watching booktube than actually reading books… and I’m not sure how I feel about that

Yes! Just yes!
He did this in his last book trolley video
I swear I see you on every video that I watch.
