2007. Ahmet Ertegun concert performance by Led-Zep. JPJ speaks to Page and Plant before the rehearsals for the gig. "We are going to do this right - or I'm not going to do this". (Leave it to the anchor of the band to set the ship straight!). And you know what? They sounded GREAT!

One of the best improvised live guitar solos you will ever hear.
Today I was at the produce stand near my house and I heard Black Dog playing on somebody's phone. I looked around to figure out who it was and it was a 10ish-year-old African-American girl dancing away to Led Zeppelin. If that doesn't show you the range of people that they affect, for 54 years and counting, I don't know what else it would take. Truly amazing.

LZ's versions of prog rock are never "cold" or "tricky"... they still hold melodies, riffs, builds, logical rises and falls.. so they become so pleasurable to listen to.. as well as being able to be so "on the edge" or avante garde... I think it's JPJ's influence of classical music that roots it all.

Hands down my favorite Zeppelin song, from the first time til now I still can't hear it enough. Jonesy is a monster in a group of giants.

Your reaction at the 4:40 drum roll is perfect. That gong is nasty. When the soundtrack came out we used to ride around the countryside late in the day with the windows down and fresh honeysuckle in the back seat and listen to this. Wouldn't mind reliving some of those days.

You said "I didn't want to see it." Very good! That's how we experienced it when it came out. There was no video, MTV or TH-cam. We felt all the music.
