The blendings for me are not subtle enough… I don’t feel a sense of refinement… the gardens dreamy but I don’t see any benches to be able to sit and take in the beauty or to enjoy a tea or have a glass of wine? That one bathroom with green giant blooms can give yo a head ache… my favorite room was the master bedroom more sedate and graceful… but to each our own… I hope this home brings them years of enjoyment and peace…🕊️

@@andysinthegarden of course I did. I love architecture and tours of famous historical homes, and GG is no exception. Liz seems like a very kind, unique individual, and it’s her home now to do with as she pleases. Her stylings just happen to strike me as the Crayola smatterings of a seven year old. It’s nothing personal.

I’ve always had to work within a very tight budget when decorating, relying on flea markets, garage sales, estate sales, and floor samples to make my spaces feel like my own. I’ve often wondered how my style might evolve if money weren’t a concern. That’s why I find these home tours so fascinating-where budget isn’t a limitation, and the homeowner’s personality and style are on display. I’m especially grateful to Liz Lange for opening her doors and giving us a peek into Grey Gardens 2.0. She’s a brave soul for letting us Grey Gardens fans inside! Big and Little Edie danced to the beat of their own drum, and Ms. Lange is doing the same. Also, I absolutely love the kitchen garden!

Fully agree- you took the exact words out of my mouth. Let me say first that she did an amazing job restoring the house. The garden and pool areas are gorgeous! H’ever, parts (not all) of the interior needs editing. I see a lot of different styles lumped into one. I would’ve preferred that she adopted the Hamptons style given that the house is in the Hamptons. I see references to H’wood regency, Palm Beach, Bev Hills hotel styles, which, IMO, do not fit the aesthetic of the house. This creates an uncomfortable environment where you’re blinded by too much going on for such a small space. The end result is that the original charm of the house is gone, which is most unfortunate.
