@@LukesPointsandMiles It was amazing to be honest the product on Lufthansa’s 787 was far and away better than Air France. It was much more modern and the Lew with a view was a nice touch. The services a was amazing and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Oh and the Biz lounge in FRA was top tier.
I think it's important to note that if you pay the taxes and fees with a Visa Infinite card instead of using points, you have all the travel insurance and protections.
Aeroplan is the best! Unbelievably flexible and can basically use them to fly First/Business to basically every continent haha. Over 10 cents/point is ridiculous value. Great video as always Luke!
Thank you for showing an excellent redemption opportunity with Aeroplan. I executed a similar flight for ORD-HND for ANA J via VS. Good to see an example of another program delivering great value. Shockingly enough, even though I'm a lifelong Chicagoan, I have never flown out of or into ORD (I have always ended up using MDW). This will be my first flight using it. Keep up the great content as always. 👍🏿
Come to NY. Reposition to JFK and ANA has available business seats almost everyday t-14 for The Room on almost every flight to Tokyo. Use Virgin for transfers and get round trip tickets for a little over 90k miles. Multiple seats available too. 14 hours non-stop in The Room
Besides Aeroplan, there's also 67.5k Turkish miles for UA / ANA and 60k AA miles for JAL. All should get access to good intl lounges so take your pick.
hi, can you make a no Foreign TF video? lowest AF as much as possible.... for UR/Hyatt points... I am looking at CSP, CIBP, Bilt.... was thinking about C1 Savorone but only as 1x on everything else... any card I should get?
Air Canada 🍁 is big league! I was doing a little research for Switzerland 🇨🇭 and the have some good options. 10 cents per point is a big time redemption for sure!💪 Thanks for the information brother and keep up the great work!🫵
Aeroplan is a major player for sure. Sooooo many options for international travel, so many partners, and their credit card is pretty good too. Thanks for the video!!!
Great Video! I used this same redemption 2 months ago to fly from Chicago to Tokyo on United Polaris. The United Polaris lounge was pretty good and not crowded. I hear it is far better than the other United Lounge in ORD.
Last summer I flew twice on Business to Europe, once on AC and once on UA, all on points, both on Dreamliners. No big difference onboard but UA allows you into Polaris lounges whereas AC only allows you into economy Maple Lounges (not Signature Suites) when redeeming points.
Just booked a flight for Tokyo yesterday for the first week of march.out of all the Chase redemptions, aeroplan was my best option considering the points I had
Luke if you did book with ANA how is the round trip supposed to work if they don’t release award space until a year out? You couldn’t book the return trip as part of the ticket since the dates wouldn’t be available, what am I missing?
Great video Uncle Luke. I appreciate you doing this video. You must have been reading my mind about wanting to go to Japan at some point. Definitely some huge value to be had. Thanks again for doing the video.
Big league redemption indeed, thanks for sharing! I agree that if I could redeem any of those flights, I'd pick ANA or JAL, but United Polaris isn't far behind as I've heard great things about the hard product.
As I am from Chicago now living in Japan. This is a good option, if you want to fly out in Feb, in business using United to Japan via Aeroplan points. But as you mentioned United is not that great a product compared to ANA and/or JAL. But the problem with flying ANA and/or JAL is that everyone wants to fly with them and your best chance to fly out to Japan with a Japanese Airliner you have to really plan ahead a year out, since by this time there will be no availability for Business and First class seats for Japanese carriers in Feb. Also for JAL, Alaska Airlines points have devalued a bit with Japan Airlines by offering Premium Economy Seats and rarely providing Business/First Class seats with points. And Virgin has hiked their points for First Class for ANA to around 170,000 points or so, but it is a return flight. Nice Video and good strategy with the Aeroplan points.
thanks, getting ready to plan a Japan trip. Probably AA miles on the way there, then will do united or aero plan miles to get our flight back.
Sounds like a solid plan!
More midwesterners live in Dallas than Houston so it would be great to see some destinations to Asia from Dallas!
I like flying out of dfw because of the capital one lounge so well check that out!!
Yes, I love the Capital One Lounge!
I enjoy watching you on youtube❤
Thanks, Vickie!!
"Real" dollars. I love it! ❤ 🇺🇸 ❤
USA! 🇺🇸. 🤣
Air Canada Aeroplan Thanks for the info + video!
Thanks for watching, Jimmy!!
I’m with you on United. It’s…fine. But if you can get the redemption to work and ANA isn’t an option, then aeroplan is still amazing.
Absolutely!!
Love Aeroplan! Great redemption example to Japan, Luke! Personally, I can't wait to take advantage of the Bilt transfer bonus on Feb 1st!!
Do folks actually have a large amount of boot points??
@@LukesPointsandMiles I do! Haven’t done any transfers yet, but this will be my first one
@@TheCreditFrog nice!
My best redemption from Tokyo was to Melbourne, 40k AAdvantage miles and 45 USD in Qantas Business Class
That sounds awesome. Nice work!!
After my Lufthansa business class redemption and flight I am an aeroplan fanboy!
How was that compared to other euro carriers?

Very cool. I have
Never flown into midway!
Meet up in tokyo japan back on? Let me know the dates maybe i can book tickets around the same time 😂
I didn’t actually book this one. Still waiting to figure out family obligations….

@@LukesPointsandMiles I even saw one first class seat the other day (The Suite). It’s only about 120k virgin miles on ANA.
@@krs1905 that’s awesome. I’m looking into it
Luke is definitely the funniest person in the points and miles game🥇 Canadians are too nice to be insulted by your comments 😂

have you seen these only as last minute ones? i tend to plan the 1 year out mark but thats been becoming increasingly difficult it seems
I haven’t looked too far out but I don’t think these deals are exclusive to short notice flights.

Aeroplan is indeed the goat. Used them for my LA to Tokyo flight on Singapore business for 63k points thanks to a transfer bonus 🔥

Thank you for the data. Sir!
All American airlines are staff I find rude, unhelpful.
Do you mean all of them? There are hundreds of thousands of employees??
