I am bawling right now! I had a blind horse, who lived thirty years. I was terrified to move him from the boarding place where he went blind to his new home. There were trails, for sure. But we did little things too. We bordered the fence line with fine gravel so he could feel when he was getting close. I bought every dollar store out of those little whirlygigs you blow on and out one on every fence post. The trough had goldfish and he could hear them. We put zip ties around the barn door so he could feel where he was, rounded the corners of his stall with litter, got him a radio... He adored our local classical station. I don't know how many hours we walked the property until he got the map in his head. We used bells too. The closer he was to the sound, the safer he was. We got lucky and one of our goats began escorting him out to pasture. You guys are so awesomely blessed!

Aww how beautiful, it saddens me thinking about when he becomes spooked and how not seeing probably only affects him in that situation...and him having a seeing friend, how amazing for lack of a better word. Many years ago, I spent Christmas at my cousin's farm where he rented his pasture to his neighbor for his herd of dairy cows. The guest room I slept in had a narrow window that opened onto the pasture and I left it open one night because it was a little too warm in the farmhouse. I woke at about 4AM with one of the cows nuzzling my hair and licking my cheek. I spent a good 30 minutes just scratching her muzzle. She loved it. Except for waking up next to my wife for the last 35 years, that was my best morning ever.

Oh! Who is this sweetest man? Whoever takes care of the most abused and debased animal on our planet (along with the pig), takes care of me because we are all one. And I am deeply grateful!
I simply don't know what to say. I was so moved by the kindness and consideration shown to Helen to make her life better. It is clear you got through to her and she is relishing her wonderful, new life of love and ease. We have saved 11 greyhounds from the racing industry, with a few having a number of scars, both physical and mental. We have one senior girl now who has eye, hip and foot issues. We love her to pieces and she is fawned on every day. She loves her walks (very slow) and her naps but just eats up affection. I am convinced that animals will be a part of heaven. I look forward to meeting Helen, fully restored. God bless you for helping your sweet girl!

They allowed us to run around all over the bales of hay watch the cows being milked It was a great experience do I think that’s why I love cows so much. So sorry about Skamp. Losing our pets is always hard. I’ve lost 5 dogs & 4 cats since 2016, & all except one cat was over 8 years old, with the oldest being an 18-19 year old kitty. The youngest was just a young little kitty, (about 18 months old), that I had rescued as a feral kitten. I got him neutered, with the intentions of adopting him out, but Marvin Grey ended up putting some love moves on my heart, & I decided to keep him. I had him 13 months before he developed a saddle thrombus that paralyzed him, & I sadly lost him just 13 months after he rescued me. I still cry over the ones I’ve lost over the years. I don’t think it ever gets easier. ((Hugs)) ❤
