How to use racadm to reset idrac root password locally ? And also is there a way to reset idrac root user password with racadm for remote servers?

Hi Abhishek Rao, you can set a new password locally in the BIOS. Boot the server, press F2 and navigate to iDRAC Settings and then User Configuration. If you can not login with a different user to your iDRAC, the only way to reset the password is locally.

How do I exit the RACADM and use the esxi shell cli. Everytime I do SSH it takes me directly to Racadm.

Hi JASMIN A K, if you use the iDRAC IP address for your SSH, you will always connect to the iDRAC not your host. If you use the host IP address on your SSH connection it should take you to the ESXi interface if ESXi is configured properly.
You can learn more about configuring ESXi on a PowerEdge Server in this article: dell.to/3BjKKXw

Hi fadafwet, RACADM command line interface is a feature of the iDRAC of a Dell EMC PowerEdge server and not available on client systems using Windows 8 or 10. For more information you can check the RACADM Guide in the iDRAC Manual: www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/idrac9-lifecycle-controller-v5.x-series/idrac9_5.xx_racadm_pub/introduction?guid=guid-3f6fb670-796a-4724-9d61-ad8a523b7b3e&lang=en-us

And what is the command for racadm to change BIOS date and time? Not the BMC time, bu the BIOS date and time.

Hello Theo Gd, there is no RACADM command to change the BIOS date. As an alternative you can sync it to the iDRAC, which is on even if the server is powered off as long as AC power is plugged in. You can find more information here: dell.to/3OcBN9s
