  • This is a review of the Necky Looksha 17 Touring Kayak, or "Pinky" as they are affectionally known. This kayak is big, stable and comfortable, and while you might struggle to keep up with some of your fancy friends in their fiberglass slipstreams, you'll have the last laugh when you get wherever you are going with a whole lot more of your stuff and a whole lot more of your money still in your pockets.
New these boats go for up to $1800. Used I've seen them for as low as $300. They make a great used option, a great way to get into touring kayaks, and a much better option than the similarly priced boats you can get at your local big box or sporting goods store.
That said, this is a big boat. Transportation and storage may prove difficult, so definitely take that into account when you are out shopping.
Special thanks to Laura Janes for letting me use/review her boat.

Awesome! They are great boats. Do you have roof racks on your corolla? I got a set of those temporary ones for mine.
