We have a language that allows us amazing vocalizations. This doesn't apply to all Italians, but the potential is enormous. There are also "out of tune" Italians like me, who still sing. I finished the conservatory without glory or honour, but I play guitar and piano. My English husband always tells me :" you Italians don't speak, sing," Obviously the phonetic potential is not enough. Even if it helps, there's always a lot of study behind a thrilling performance. Rhythm, timing, breathing....The Matia Bazar are very good.
