They put millions into it and handed it to Harry to run to have something to do when he left the Army. William also put in £1m from a lawsuit he won. Richard, Harry was NOT a helicopter pilot!! He failed his final pilot exams 3 times. He was presented with his PROVISIONAL wings, by Prince Charles ( as he then was). He was a gunner but never a pilot.

there is the RF which he always will be a sort of part of, BUT he is no longer a working Royal meaning he does not carry out any Royal Duties on behalf of the Monarch, only working Royals get security, full time is Charles & Camilla, Katherine and William Prince & Princess of Wales and children, the other working Royals only get security if they carry out duties on behalf of the Monarch, eg on Duty, such as Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne, Beatrice, Eugenie maybe The Kent's or Gloucester's, at home its by their own means.

I listened to a military guy saying H wanted to train as a pilot. The RF didn't want him to, but finally everyone figured he was too dumb to succeed so let him have a go and surprise, surprise he excelled and won his wings. I believe he did get to fly as pilot for awhile.
He qualified as a co-pilot.

I would like to visit Balmoral as well. The late Queen Elizabeth II is the only monarch I knew about growing up in America. She was such a blessing to the British people not to mention the Commonwealth. I was in awe of her and admired her.
Much has been glamourised of Haz's days in the Army and tours in Afghanistan. Most of it has been untrue to allow Haz to maintain some dignity being a Royal. From true stories, if he hadn't been a Royal and the Queen pathing the path for her grandson to serve in the Army. If everything had been true, hecwoukd have remained past ten years and would have elavated much further in rank.
Sadly, like everything in Haz's life, he hasn't excelled in anything he has tried to do. Serving as a Senior Royal was about all he was capable of doing with out embassing his family.
William on the other hand was very much a successfully qualified Pilot in helicopter search and rescue. From what I assume, seeing him take control of a helicopter during the Pandemic, he has kept his qualifications current. To date, Haz appears to be the only military washout as a Royal. It's difficult being appointed a Commander in Chief for a Royal male, not having served in the Military, successfully. Military Service for Royal men has sort of been mandatory as a passage of rites.

The Invictus Games were the brainchild of Harry, the Duke of Sussex. As a British Army officer, he saw many wounded servicemen and women during two combat tours in Afghanistan - and so the price they paid for serving their country. From 2007 to 2008, Harry was deployed to Afghanistan's troubled Helmand province.
22 hours to see a match during his holiday and also the last-min arrangements for security etc. would have been an enormous undertaking not just for UK but also for Australia. So no, it really wouldn't have been a good idea.

I believe the Invictus Games is a very good thing but please don't say that Harry ''set it up". Let's be honest, he saw the US Warrior Games and mentioned that he liked the idea and someone, a courtier, did the actual work to organize them. Staying ay least three four days after getting there, including match, would be needed. So he would be away for about a week or more anyway.

Her death as we know rocked the world to it's core as Di was a global beloved figure. In my family this is a particularly difficult for my family. May God be with Diana's family. Correction for Richard. Harry never passed his pilots exam. His only "flying" was as a co-pilot. As my husband was a helicopter pilot in the military, there is a difference. He, Harry, was not in the Apache long. Yes, I know he served overseas for any that will jump on me for that, but what is coming out now from his "chums" in his unit. He was not a hero by any means. Then to turn on his unit the way he did announcing kills like they were a notch on his belt was appalling. Richard is correct that Prince William did indeed train AND fly as the Commander of an aircraft in the RAF. He did indeed earn the right to this patronage that was given to him by the King.

William risked his life almost daily as a helicopter air ambulance rescue pilot after leaving the forces. Flying in horrendous conditions and landing in very dangerous places all in order to save the lives of people who suffered serious injuries on mountains, at sea etc etc

The Royal Family, with their duties have, of necessity, moved on. H will just have to face the consequences of his egregious choices, and the beyond vitriolic, mediocre woman he chose. The grief isn’t nearly over for him. mm is settling into her original level, social media “dime a dozen”, and side story bit parts. But, H will never regain his former level of status, nor can he pass it on to his family. It’s all such rubbish, it’s hard to fathom. But, the seeds were planted long ago by his mother’s reckless revealing of very hurtful things publicly , and in writing concerning her affair with red headed Hewitt, and exposing Charles’ disappointment at his birth. These things need never had been said. They are moments that pass, and the love of father and son develops past them. I doubt if Charles really had his heart set on a girl, and was happy with both of his beautiful sons. He certainly was a more loving father than he enjoyed with Prince Philip.
I think Prince William has made the right decision, not to fly around the world for a single match, he sent a lovely personal message and will apparently host a fabulous welcome reception for the ladies who made history by being in the final - and not making it an easy win for Spain!
Harry didn't fly helicopters in Afghanistan - he was the *co*-pilot, not having passed his pilot's exam. And he didn't cherish his military links sufficiently not to attend the Lion King premier (to tout for voice-over business for his actress wife) instead of being the guest of honour at the Gala 'his' regiment were holding.
If Harry had "cherished" his military ties then he would not have walked out on them. Harry cherishes himself, money and maybe Meghan.

Harry says the disabled veterans are important to him but his actions say the opposite. He collects money through his Charities for the veterans but he keeps the money for himself and his wife.
